Already posted this in good housekeeping so apologies if you see it there too.

I have bought some of http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Prestigious-Curtain-Fabric-SHIPS-NAVY-Per-1-2m_W0QQitemZ130275421169QQcmdZView ItemQQptZUKCraftsFabricTextilesSM?hash=item130275421169&trksid=p3286.c0.m14&trkparms=72%3A1301 %7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318 this fabric to upholster an old chair (it is heavyweight enough for it) which I have in DS's nursery, and I want the room to match! No idea what to do though...

He has a stokke cot and changing station in whitewash (basically off white), which are the only pieces of furniture in the room that need to stay. There's also a fairly vile canvas wardrobe, but planning to replace it (what with?!). Walls are off white, curtains are heavy off white canvas, don't really want to repaint or get new curtains, but am prepared to consider it.

I like the idea of the chair being the focal point in the room, but I have no idea what else to do! I like the sort of country, shabby chic look (not quite sure how to make that work though!), as well as scandinavian and bright, bold colours for a nursery.
I'm fairly handy with a sewing machine and thought about making cushion covers from this fabric, but not sure if that's a bit ott. Also thought about pulling the red white and blue theme out.

So what would you do? And what storage would you have? Help!

First link doesn't work..but second fabric is quite nice for a 'nautical' theme.

IKEA have cheap wardrobes in pale shades to keep the whole thing neutral. My boys rooms are basically red white and blue but I have used old crates for a DVD table and baskets for storage.

You could make some blinds from blue and white ticking (Someone is going to have fun ripping the 'cup cake buntingness' of this chat to pieces!) I bought masses of it dead cheap on ebay, it looks great as roman blinds.

I know, it is unbearably yummy-mummy-esque of me! Most unlike my usual self, but I am so pleased with this fabric I can't resist.

Ooh, hadn't thought of checking Ikea, thanks for that.
