Will the housing crisis ever be solved?

Do you think there is any hope for young people wanting to buy in? I have friends and family where I live but now I am priced out. I am not just competing with locals but people who live in London and the ever increasing new arrivals. Housing supply has not kept up with demand for years and this government has no plans. I will be renting for ever.

By 2032 the biggest wealth/land transfer of the modern age will be in full swing.
The boomers are dying off (age) and leaving large property/properties and so much stuff...garages, lofts and cellars full to bursting.
Having had to empty 3 such homes in the last few years, I will say its pretty soul destroying.
It'll be very interesting to see what this transfer does to the housing market - more houses flooding the market, many needing upgrades/restoration, will bring prices down?

Why soul destroying?

The market is already flooded with stock, the cost of borrowing rising will do what"s needed for prices. The "crisis" is for people with big mortgage debt, or trying to sell.

We are looking to upsize within the next few years, so a house price drop would be good for us, but I can’t see there being a significant drop tbh.

The bond market crises means that the government will have no choice but to print money. What always happens when governments print money? Asset price inflation.

For that to be even remotely workable you need all the central banks on the same page, that is no longer the case, and money printing doesn"t stop attacks on oil supply routes, that wasn"t happening when they bailed out the banking system last time. I think the point you are missing is that they acted to bail out BANKERS, they are not going to bail out mortgage debtors by risking another massive wave of global inflation requiring even higher rates to tame! What is it, only 30% of working people have mortgage debt, most of them will make lifestyle cut backs to keep paying their debt, the people who in the past would have lost the house will just get extended, 40, 50 year debt terms, it is no biggie now because the bankers are safe and making money again.
