Opinion on this house?

Considering going to view this house, but I’m not sure. It’s a 3 bed link detached with asking price of £245k. What do you think?

Not enough photos to make a decision on, rather drab from what I can see.

If you like it and it's in your budget and the location works for you, then view it. I am not keen, it looks a bit cramped, but there's nothing obviously awful.

It looks like not much effort was made in smartening the place up before taking photos!

The photos don’t seem to be doing it any favours and their furnishings aren’t to my taste but I think with a bit of cosmetic upgrading it could be a nice little house. Seems cheap to me but that might be the area.

I think it could look better with a coat of paint and a lot less furniture. Things like the kitchen and bathroom don't look old or in terrible condition, so I think you could probably make it look better than it does now - same with the garden.

It looks nice @RhubarbBikini123 I don't know what the area is like though.

Is there enough space for your requirements? Is it in a decent area? Can you afford it? Kitchen and living room look a decent size.

Looks alright OP... definately go and view otherwise you'll always wonder....

Are you the seller, OP? We know nothing about your requirements, lifestyle, budget or even location so why would you ask the opinions of strangers rather than just go and see it for yourself?

Crikey, the vendors didn't exactly bother with presentation for the pics - I'm guessing they were confident it would sell regardless!

No reductions since listing in Feb and 'offers in excess of' so sounds like a deluded seller too. Last sold in 2018 for 187k, but can't tell if any improvements have been made since and I'm not familiar with the Yorkshire market so don't know if the price is right or not....

There are no room sizes on the floor plan, which is off putting. It’s described as being 850 sq ft, which seems very small for a three bed house. It looks a bit neglected and the garden certainly is.

I don't know the area at all. The style of house isn't to my taste but it seems a fine layout, room proportions are ok for the price range of the house. Nothing stands out to me. It clear needs some cosmetic updating but nothing you couldn't live with.

It seems it's of an age where you might need to do some if the bigger jobs in the next 5-10 years (windows, electrics etc). So I'd factor that in.

It's not fabulous but that's probably down to the rather depressing presentation. The kitchen looks new and clean so if you like it, all good. But put an offer in. It's been on the market for ages and as a southerner, seems a bit spenny.

I like it. If you want to live in that area. Sensible layout and decent condition.
You’d probably only get a useful response from anyone in that specific small area though.
Not much around there apart from loads of dog related businesses! Lots of green space. Bit of a trek to nearest large town or city so would be in the car a lot.
Does that suit your current life stage? Work? Children? Pets?

First thing that struck me was that the house looks dingy. Lights on in all the rooms.

80m/2 is a bit small.

The house looks mostly fine but:

I don’t like houses with no hallways.

Bit of a remote location, and too close to a main road for me.

‘Offers over’ is off-putting.

I can see why it’s been up for sale for a while.

Nobody has a clue where the op lives. S/he might even live abroad. Even if s/he lives in North Yorkshire, I'm pretty sure there are several people living there.

And the op posted the house. It's pretty easy to find the listing with two clicks of a mouse.

Area360 warns of Very High noise levels from the road, so it'd be a no from me.
