Why do I want the removers to do the packing?

Not me, I need advice to give to DC.
What is the benefit in getting the removers to do the packing? If all they do is wrap drawers, complete with contents, in clingfilm then what are you paying for? What else do they do?

A friend of mine left washing up in the bowl. That got packed as was too!

Speed and ease. They bring their own packing materials, pack everything for you, label it, load the lorry, transport it all and then unload it at the other end e.g. reassembling beds and wardrobes. It’s brilliant and worth every penny.

It was the only way I survived the last move but that was because the whole thing nearly fell apart with chain dramas and an attempted gazundering and we only knew we were actually moving a week before. A couple of things were damaged but I think it's because of the firm I used and they were moving exhausted in a heatwave. Work paid my relocation and I could afford it in what they paid. It was so nice compared to the stress of trying to pack ourselves but we had a lot of stuff to move and some disabilities. If you have plenty of spare time, lots of pairs of able bodied hands and enjoy packing I don't think I'd bother

if you let movers do the packing then there is another layer of insurance against breakages /damage E.T.C

We have always used removal packers, but have just sold our second home and packed ourselves. We did this because we were getting rid of a lot of things and packed as we made those decisions. Never again! It’s exhausting and took a long time.
Always use packers.

I forgot to come back to this thread.
DC decided to pack and unpack themselves, and the removers just did the removals.
It all went swimmingly.💪
