Small, well decorated. Looks like a crack den from the outside.

Would suit a middle class student who wants to be boujee and live amongst the common people.

BlankTimes · 26/09/2025 13:16

Aren't wood or solid floors seen as a noise nuisance for the people living below?

Plenty mentions on MN from people with neighbours living above having solid floors causing a lot of noise whilst living normally.

IAmThePrettiestManOnMyIsland · 26/09/2025 13:18

Fairly decorated but overpriced, (I don't know the market in Frome)
either way I wouldn't to pay £125k for a small flat that I think would be hard to sell on. I also wouldn't like to live on a busy road.

I think the suitability depends on your future plans.

I wouldn't want to stay in it for a holiday!

Neither would I. DH and I are tall and there is no parking.

Epc is something i have no knowledge about

@worldwidetravel2017 If you are looking at buying a property you need to be very aware of this EPC (energy performance certificate). As I said I've NEVER seen one like this before (so low it's off the scale).

I believe the Government are or were taking in legislation that you can not rent out a property unless it has a C rating. Someone else can perhaps amend this with the exact ruling.

Also I doubt if you would get a mortgage (might be wrong with this) but as a generalisation no one wants to buy a property with a low EPC unless they are going to gut it and insulate it themselves.

Length of lease left would be important to know.

It’s freehold!

Teachingagain · 26/09/2025 13:30

Fine for a short person with no belongings.

Advocodo · 26/09/2025 13:30

Lounge is north facing so would not want that although you may get some sunshine from the south facing kitchen window. Wouldn’t ever buy anything without parking, Also restricted head room.

It’s freehold!

Op said 999 years on lease 22 years gone

Flexing · 26/09/2025 13:38

It’s nicely done and looks comfortable for a short term holiday let.

I did notice the beams and low slanty roof which made me think if you were tall, it might not be so comfortable, but that’s probably because dh is very tall (6’5) and I imagine he’d be ducking his head quite a bit.

I'm not seeing the appeal at all. You can't even get into one side of the bed!

SunnySideDeepDown · 26/09/2025 14:57

Beautiful decoration but very claustrophobic.

Ilovepastafortea · 26/09/2025 16:30

We lived in that area of Somerset (we lived in Wells) for about 3 years about 40 years ago. At that time Frome had some social problems & was rather run down, I have no reason to think that things have changed. It's also rather isolated (as is much of Somerset) in that there is not much public transport. I would think that people would prefer to pay for a holiday let somewhere more accessible & more aesthetically pleasing.

If you are 'wedded' to moving to Somerset, you might prefer to spend a bit more and go for the Taunton area. If you're looking for a holiday rental, I'd go for somewhere closer to the coast in Devon.
