i say yes DH says no. I think the description refers to a garden and two patios. DH thinks it’s just two patios. Any strong views either way??

Easy enough to check! But it has a patio no garden

TheNightingalesStarling · 23/04/2025 19:47

The garden is described as a two layer patio with borders.

GeorgianaM · 23/04/2025 19:48

It has a paved area at the back and then steps leading down to another paved area and the it backs on to woodland.

No lawns.

BoarBrush · 23/04/2025 19:55

That video is horrendous. So is the house and it's soulless patio mind you.

WonderingWanda · 23/04/2025 19:59

Agreed....just a whole load of hideous patio

Thighdentitycrisis · 23/04/2025 20:02

Yes, a patio garden backing onto woodland

CaptainMyCaptain · 23/04/2025 20:03

Bland, bland, bland. The only colour in the entire house is the books on the bookshelves although obviously the buyer could change that. No garden just patio and no colour there either. 👎

EmeraldRoulette · 23/04/2025 20:03

Somebody needs to tell the estate agent to stop shouting 😂

HeddaGarbled · 23/04/2025 20:08

It’s just semantics: a patio garden is still a garden; a courtyard garden is still a garden; a gravel garden is still a garden etc.

cramptramp · 23/04/2025 20:10

Yes. It’s a garden that has been paved over.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 23/04/2025 20:13

I think a patio, no lawn.
i think it’s lovely, backing onto woodland. A rural feel without the upkeep.
i know that area well, close to some lovely spots on the river, heathland etc

DisforDarkChocolate · 23/04/2025 20:15

I like it, easy enough to add colour. Patio gardens are easy to add colour to with pots.

blueleavesgreensky · 23/04/2025 20:17

What constitutes a garden to you OP. Surely not just grass. Those patio areas are large. They are the garden

Wafflesandsyrup · 23/04/2025 20:18

Located in a CUL-DE-SAC position, backing onto WOODLANDS, is this DETACHED, EXTENDED FIVE BEDROOM FAMILY HOME offering VERSATILE ACCOMMODATION, with GARDEN, GARAGE and off road PARKING

What sort of colour do you want?
The curtains have colour. The walls are neutral. The bathroom has warm tones.

I think people fail to see beyond furnishings. The house is currently furnished with whites and creams. If someone likes colour they would furnish with coloured bedding, sofas, armchairs, cushions, towels, plants, paintings.

EnjoythemoneyJane · 23/04/2025 20:28

It’s a nice house, OP, with lots of flexible space, but it doesn’t have a garden, just a patio, and the outside area is probably smaller than you’d expect for a house of this size.

These threads always amaze me - ‘oh it’s so bland’, ‘it’s horrendous’. If only someone would invent paint and you were allowed to bring your own furniture - or even, god forbid, have the imagination to see a house dressed differently to the way it is now … 🙄

Although if beige is your thing (as it may well be because, you know, personal taste, etc) then it’s good to go.

I agree ...plus the advice when selling is to make it neutral, colour is not to everyone's taste! It's a lot to easier to paint a cream wall red than vice versa. Clearly some people seriously lack any kind of imagination. And I'm quite sure that some people have the need to feel superior and talk about how they have so much personality in their house and suchlike 🙄.

Rant over. No I don't think it has a lawn OP.

Why the hell does that matter?! Surely if you're buying a house you're not influenced by the colour of the walls!

Glitchymn1 · 23/04/2025 20:42

Yes, low maintenance patio with some shrubs- backing onto woods.
I like it. A blank canvas. We both work, I like the garden but I don’t have time for gardening, it would work for me.

DazedAndConfused321 · 23/04/2025 20:42

2 patios bordered by a heath! I'd be happy with that

Scuttlecuttle · 23/04/2025 20:43

It has a garden but it's very open and not private, photo 18 shows a red dog poo bin just a few meters from the boundary so assume there is a well used footpath all along the back. As there are railings rather than a fence it doesn't feel good for security plus people can see right into your garden and back of the house. If you have young kids it's something to consider as it feels quite exposed.

I just did this - went to the area on Google maps and had a look at the satellite. I don't think it has a grassed garden, but the patio areas are large.

A horrible thing to say about someone’s home. It’s hardly “horrendous” just because it’s not to your taste. Bet your house is less than perfect

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 23/04/2025 21:27

No garden.
If you go to Google Maps, and look at street view, you can look at earlier pictures (go to top left hand corner and select 'see more dates' ) and you will see that in 2009 there was a small bungalow that has since been demolished and a 5 bedroomed house squeezed onto the plot... the bungalow was sold in May 2008 for £200,000 and the new property was listed in December 2024 for £725,000. (according to Zoopla) it is now 'offers in excess of £675,000'.

Does this house have an actual garden?
