Me neither, @Madformaltesers. I need to chase again, but it's soul-destroying!

My parents' house is going on the market imminently, so hopefully it'll sell quickly and liquidate their asset to give them the cash to top their savings back up.

I let my solicitor know today that if we don't get something soon I'll be pulling out. I'm also worried I'll lose my buyers.

@NormallyAwkward so sorry to hear you are still waiting !! Are you still supposed to be completing on friday how are u organizing removals etc ? I had a week and i am still running around like a headless chicken !! I am still nowhere near packed 😭

@movingtoreading yeah, still on for Friday apparently! Exchange was attempted today, they only got as far as my house just after 3pm as my buyer's solicitor was messing about. My seller's solicitors just wasn't responding to mine so try again first thing. I've just sent the first bit of my deposit and I'll send the rest tomorrow once they've confirmed they've received what I've sent. I booked removals last week as I felt I had no choice. I think we're behind with the packing but my husband is convinced it's fine! How are you getting on? Have you managed to sort schools?

@NormallyAwkward don't trust your husband 🤣 packing takes ages !! Unless you throw everything in boxes i tried to label etc so i know where things are !
They got different schools 😭 no i need to find afternoon club for one of them as i cant be at two places at once for pick up ! I am just dreading it and keep thinking why on earth i chose to make my life more difficult !!

We are completing tomorrow and I can’t actually believe it’s happening! When the solicitor does the final bits and has excess funds left over from our sale does that get transferred straight to us or could it be a later date?

Had an update on ours today but sounds like still a couple of questions to be answered and report to be written.

We're STILL waiting for the developer to sign our Deed of Variation - they've had it for about 5 weeks now, and no word of when they will sign it! We've got a completion date pencilled in of two weeks time, and everyone is just waiting on this one thing. I've resigned myself to it just not happening then - I can't keep checking my phone every two minutes, I'm an absolute wreck!

I'm just astonished that this third party can delay everything by so much with no way for us to hurry them up. They have no skin in the game whatsoever, its just as the master developer for the whole site (our house isn't a newbuild, its 6 years old!) they have to sign this document. Its infuriating.

@closedbook2 the letter from exchange says it will take one day for us ! We kept some of the equity from our sale i am guessing it will be monday

Ours was transferred on completion day.

Right @NormallyAwkward . The question on our lips is, have you exchanged today?

I’m going to have a break down. The enquiries that were satisfied are not. The date that was floated and accepted by 5 out of the 6 in the chain my vendor is now saying either we do the last day of march which half the chain can’t do, or we all do April and pay the extra costs.

im fucking livid.

pfft still waiting for my report to be finished - was pencilled in to exchange tomorrow.

Anyway we have agreed completion day of 31st which is cutting it fine to say the least but it’s the only day one in the chain could secure removals - so he’s booked it.

Still waiting for the buyer to sort out his deed of variation on his existing property transaction. Trying to book yet another provisional house clearance date. It is all getting seriously complicated now, with pressure of completion dates, work deadlines, and a short trip we booked last year.

We have JUST heard that the deed of variation has been signed by the developer on the house we're buying! Phew!! Apparently our solicitor just needs them to confirm they've also got a copy of the power of attorney to say they're authorised to sign it (ffs, its never ending, but hopefully they have it, since that's a fairly standard thing for companies to provide) and we can exchange! Suddenly feel like I can breathe a little bit (will be able to breathe a lot more once we've actually exchanged...)

I have said bugger it we will work towards x date and if my two small humans, partner, me and the three cats and dog are homeless for 3 days between it then we will go air b and b it but since the ftb EA and solicitor is so shit - I’m not gonna book it until we have exchanged. God help us.

oh and ironically the ftb at the beginning of is insisting we complete in the last week of march and because they only had 4 months to sort themselves out and apparently did nothing in that time bar chased the top of chain (me to rush rush everyone’s ready)to then say last min. Oh sorry about that.

EA for the FTB is having the nerve to get shirty - honest to god this is killing me

July - house on market, sold twice, offer accepted from me.
Sept - my buyer pulls out. Stupid reason.
Nov - I have to pull out of my purchase due to lying and sneaky vendors. Find new buyer quickly and also find new house.
Feb - hoped to move.
March - was supposed to move.
Today - expecting to know when.

Count me in. I’m in a bad mood and could do with an outlet.

No completion date other than saying he wanted to beat the stamp duty deadline.
