Kerb appeal help desperately needed please!

We need to sell my late dad's house asap - long boring story but it's costing us far too much money. Trying to get away from the elderly looking image. The inside is being addressed but I am absolutely lacking inspiration when it comes to kerb appeal. It has zero right now. Great sized plot at the end of a cul-de-sac but the front is so dull. If I put pots by the front door it blocks garage access - maybe that doesn't matter for selling?? Any (cheap) bright ideas very gratefully received! I'm not going to the expense of resurfacing the drive. This is one of the eastate agent's rather rubbish pictures. Will be changing agents after we have updated it. Thank you!

What about a hanging basket if you don't have room for a pot? Is there access to the garage from within the house? If not, you would need to be able to open tbe garage door if they wanted to look at it

The garage door has a remote roll over system so that will open - pots would just block driving in. Just a bit uninspired and desperate!

I think that looks absolutely fine tbh OP.

If you want to brighten it, I would add pots with colour along the path under the three windows.

You could do one either side of the garage too, if you could get something tall and thin even better.

Get rid of the moss.

But honestly I think it looks fine, especially if you're selling it as something in need of modernisation.

Hanging basket between the door and little window. Or you could put some narrow troughs along from the door under the little window.

Get rid of the grass between the paving slabs (Resolve spray or similar will be less back breaking than pulling it up).

I think that curtains would look better than blinds but I don't know if the expense could be justified.

Pressure wash the drive.
Paint the fence on the left hand side of the house.

Actually bought a metal bench on ebay today at a friend's suggestion. Sounds like I need to get potting. I'm so not a gardener.

how much have u to spend literally no point in pots etc if its a wreck inside

Good point about the fence panel - was a replacemnet that got neglected.

I would jet wash the drive andvpath, get rid of the weeds between the slabs and along the edges. A couple of pots on the path opposite tge front door. Maybe a bench and some pots under the 3 windows.
I would either get rid of the blinds or at least open them. Those kinds of blinds are very office / healthcare facility / school.

@Mrsgreen100 damp is a resolved problem - was a leaking drain. The photos are old so I think it's much better now but I absoutely get your point. It's definitely comfortably liveable but people may want to rearrange/remodel.

Could you put a big pot, statue or birdbath in the middle of the lawn?

Sounds like everyone's saying exactly the same! We have a jetwasher so can do that. Will hopefully be able to post a much improved "after" picture soon. Thank you.

@Ellmau good shout. Lots of houses in the locality have many many garden pots!

I actually think the outside looks good - blank canvas that I would look forward to making my own!

But for ideas as you've asked, I'd go for a couple of hanging baskets and window boxes under the windows. Keep it simple & the ground clear, the lawn & edge of beds trimmed and the driveway/path weed free.

Honestly OP unless you're spending money on the interior and putting in a new kitchen or something, I wouldn't spend money on the outside. Just make it look neat and cared for. A splash of colour from a few flowers will do no harm but don't be spending. These things add up and you won't get it back.

Cheap and cheerful it is! Just want it to be nice/neat enough not to put people off coming in the front door.

That's my tomorrow job then! I do weed but the buggers keep growing back. Who knew? It's about 25 mins from me so hopefully it will soon start to be light when I finish work.

I think just power wash and neaten up the grass and edges clean garage door and the door and windows, paint the gate and fence and open the blinds. A nice big pot at the front door

If it's any help my 85 year old father in law has bought somewhere similar - what sold it to him was the interior was all freshly decimated, all new flooring , all new curtains and blinds -

I think a bit of nice new trellising up the left hand side of the front would look good - plus a quick growing climber and maybe one hanging basket near the front door
