Ice cream maker. I never use it but I can’t bring myself to get rid of it.

When I got married I was not planning to have a wedding list but loads of my extended family insisted I should have one. Same family members advised me that this should include individual items from a particular set of 'special' crockery. Apparently although it was fairly pricey, guests would buy us individual items so it would not be too expensive for each person and we would end up with a lovely dinner set that we would use for special occasions/dinner parties etc for the rest of our lives. We received 3 mugs, 2 plates and a bowl which have not yet been used as they seem too expensive to use every day and there are not enough of them to use for a special occasion. It seemed wrong to sell/give away etc wedding gifts and I thought perhaps I might complete the collection myself (or at least collect 4 mugs and plates for cake and coffee) at some point but there has always been something more important to spend money on. These items have now been sitting in my cupboard unused for over 20 years, the collection is no longer made and most of the people who gave them to me have passed away so I feel that I am now obliged to keep them for the rest of my days.

We had an electric reclining sofa that our puppy ate the cables on so that's been pretty useless for 8 years!

A computer from 1994 that I can't bring myself to part with.

Room full of ancient HIFI which is apparently valuable so can't get binned, but also never seems to be able to be sold.

Bits may be available on ebay if you want to make a set.

The 'good' china that can't be washed in the dishwasher. It hasn't seen the light of day since 1990.
