Would this plan work? I've used your room measurements from your plan on this diagram on Victoria Plum to figure out what would fit. It's similar to one of the plans you posted today but swaps the bath and sink around so you have more room to bathe the dogs without being pressed up against the shower.

Obviously the bath would be pushed along a little bit because of the soil stack, but the plumber could build out that wall the full width of the bath to build in some alcove shelving.

I think that the toilet would be too far from the sink, PassMe.

It's occurred to me that I'm not comparing like with like when I'm looking at the 2 plans which are mirror-ish images as the right wall is 1940 compared to the left wall 1750.

Shower on right wall is 1000 L x 800.
Shower on left wall is 800 L x 1000.

So shower on right wall looks more cramped but actually the wall will be another 190 long which compensates for the extra shower length.
I'll have to adjust that plan and see how it looks.

Instinctively I like the toilet on the left best, but if it works batter on the right for the soul stack then so be it, if you're happy with the shower that way.

can you add your proposed cabinetry?,

NeedTheSeaside · 27/08/2023 18:40

Soil. - I'm due as long as the toilet isn't straight ahead of the door, your soul will be ok 🤣🤣

NeedTheSeaside · 27/08/2023 18:42

Your toilet has quite a different amount of space from the window wall & shower on each plan?

ReviewingTheSituation · 27/08/2023 18:54

BTW - on the plan with the shower and loo on the RH wall, is there enough space in front of the loo for a man to stand? It looks very close to the sink. Might even feel a bit of a squeeze sitting down. You could probably move the sink over a bit, or maybe get a narrower sink? It looks like it's got quite a lot of 'edge' either side of the bowl.

Yes which is why shower & WC on the right looks more cramped.
But in reality the right wall is longer than the left wall , I haven't factored that into those plans. I've just been playing with them again.

Option 50-zillion & 1.

Added tall wall cupboards for the soul 😉 stack ( I honestly made that typo as typing on phone).
There is room for the bath and soil stack as that it the longer room and this plan is rendered to the shorter opposite wall.

Cabinets put in for effect.
I'd go with slimline, approx 200-218 width depending on the manufacturer.

Left wall is 1750.
800 width shower x 1000 into room, opening towards bath.
200 cabinetry into corner.
750 left for loo.
(Without half, or full, wall to shower).
Maybe too narrow, will see what the bathroom guy says.
Don't want to reduce shower width.

Think this is the less likely option due to toilet waste

And the mirror image.

Right wall is 1940.
1000 width shower x 800 into room, opening towards bath.
200 soil stack into corner.
740 left for loo.(Without half, or full, wall to shower), so almost identical to space on opposite wall.

Thats just an example sink I put in on the planner not necessarily what I'd have.
I think there is enough space.
I'd centre the basin in the middle of the 3-pane window, which is 1,342 from that wall. Basin approx 500 wide, so 250 of that'll space. Leaving 1,092 from end on basin to wall. WC approx 700.
My ensuite is an identical layout to this part and that is 1,260 from wall to middle of basin.
Although I think WC is slightly further from the basin wall in the ensuite.
I'll have to sit on the loo off-centre and see, and get a bloke to do the same standing (but not urinate!!!).

Am also redoing the ensuite, hence the pictures! And am planning the same cabinetry layout, but will slimline wall cabinets above the WC filling that wall.

We had our bathroom completely refitted, due to it being a long and narrow rectangle we were really limited on floorspace with windows on each end of the rectangle.

Our plumber suggested a shower on the end of one wall which meant it partly obscuring the window, I was very sceptical about how it would look but it was the only way to get a shower in the room without having it attached to a partition wall like it was.

We decided to go for it and honestly it doesn't bother me at all and doesn't block any light like the partition wall used to. I'll attach a crappy picture so you get the idea, but you'll just have to take my word that it looks just fine 🙂
