yes for me

No.

32 years ago a separate dining room was the top priority. Ten years ago I turned it into a big kitchen.

It has no downstairs loo. I wouldn't consider a house without one now.

No, but only because we need something smaller now.

What I want probably doesn’t exist and certainly not for the money we can afford. I’d like a single storey place, with a small, attractive garden, a large kitchen/ family room, a separate living room, at least two large bedrooms, plus a drive and garage.

No. I actually hated it when we viewed it in 2018 but it was in a good location so was persuaded by my DH to go for it.

We were downsizing, but I had a feeling it would prove too small for us and he now agrees with me. I wish we'd not sold our previous house.

In the 5+ years we've been here we've changed virtually everything (moved walls, repurposed rooms, rebuilt extension and created a 0.5 acre garden...ok the latter isn't quite complete but we've landscaped more than half) and it's so much better now, but neither of us are happy so will be selling soon.

Fortunately it's more than doubled in price as we'll be moving back to a more expensive area.

No. I hate my house and where we live. I would definitely move if I could. Neighbours are ok tho 😂

fussychica · 16/07/2023 08:55

No. As much as I like it it's was only meant to be a stop-gap which we were going to do up and sell on. We did it up but haven't sold on. It's not got the view I was after and slightly smaller than I would like but I do have lovely neighbours , it's future proof and it's very convenient and these things keep me here.

Coastalcreeksider · 16/07/2023 09:14

Yes. I chased after this one as the original sale on it fell through and managed to get it for a really good price. It's still not how I really want it and has some weird features that I want to sort out after living here eight years but it's very much a work in progress internally.

It's pretty much doubled in price if I wanted to sell it and the location is great, couple of minutes walk from tidal creek with large green park, short walk to town and bus station and about 20 minutes walk to train station.

Perfect almost.

Yes, I love my house. Has taken 10 years to get it how I want, kitchen, small extension for a utility room.
Wouldn’t be able to afford to buy it now. A house the same as ours before we extended is on for £150k more than what we payed for ours 10 years ago.

Ylvamoon · 16/07/2023 10:22

As it is now? YES! (But most likely couldn't afford it)

As it was 15 years ago no - to small as it only has 2 bedrooms for starters.

3BSHKATS · 16/07/2023 10:43

Tbh yes, it could be the forever home in theory.

I think ill always own it but not necessarily always live in it if that makes sense ?

CocoPlum · 16/07/2023 11:08

No. Bought many years ago pre children, split with exH when DC were young and I can't afford to move. DC are now young teens and like many first time buys in the area the house has 2 large bedrooms and one very small so one DC has a room half the size of the other. The garden is also tiny and I'd love a decent size one. But I'm stuck here now. It's nice enough.

Stressedoutforever · 18/07/2023 06:48

No because but only because our financial situation has really changed and we could afford much closer to our dream house
