Everhot electric stoves

We moved into a new house recently and it is a cold one! No insulation, single pane windows...utility bills have been sky high!

Small radiators in all rooms. We are going to insulate when we can but I am thinking of other options to tide us over. Honestly it is freezing inside - at the moment it is warmer outside than in!

Thinking of getting an Everhot electric stove for the bedroom (sorry don't know how to do links). I have fantasies of it being all snug and cosy. Does anyone have one? Would you recommend it?

They told me the pink
is v popular - a bit bright for our room!
There’s a coolish grey/blue that I also liked!

Dusky blue

you can order swatch samples for free

There is a dusky pink one. DH just said if I want that it can be my birthday present - but not sure I want a mini-oven as a present!

(I paid a bigger share than DH as an anniversary present as he wfh in that room… but for a birthday, no!)

That's more money than sense. Sure, it's very cute but it's £1.5k to buy!

I'm sure you can find a cheaper way to heat your bedroom. Meantime you can upgrade a couple of radiators or windows.

Exactly. It’s just turning electricity into heat, like my £60 1.5kw oil filled radiator.
It is visually appealing, but I’d soon get bored of cleaning around it.

if a stove puts out as much heat as the full 150i range cooker then it won’t heat much either. Having my range on is like a gentle background warmth. Equivalent to a very small radiator. It’s nothing like an aga.

i suspect it puts out a lot more though given that it’s designed to heat as opposed to the range which is designed to cook (slowly!)

I have coveted one for ages but I can’t believe the price increase. They were about a grand when I was looking last year.

onepieceoflollipop · 27/04/2023 18:30

They put the price up in April
i paid just under 1400 in March
no regrets it really suits our needs and I love the look of it.
but I’d strongly advise seeing one before buying it.

What sort of size room are PPs who are liking these using them in? Just wondering if this might be a possible solution for my sitting room when I don’t want/need the heating on in every room…

frostbittenfingers · 27/04/2023 19:11

Good question - bedroom I want it for is 4.5m by 4.8m...

I’ve a fairly standard/medium size kitchen diner. It keeps one end of the room really warm and the overall space quite warm.
(no idea of measurements, but it’s a standard semi house with extended kitchen, it’s not a mansion or anything)

For £1500, no. Get a new window in your bedroom and the room below, and buy an electric blanket.
