Glass or shower curtain

Renovating the bathroom. I am so sick of cleaning the bl shower and glass still looking not it's best. We live in a hard water area and I am seriously thinking just ripping the glass screen and replacing it with a normal shower curtain. DH is dead against it, as 'why to renovate and then put shower curtain? Glass looks nice!' Except, that he has NEVER cleaned the bl* thing in his life.
I know, have a DH problem, not the Shower Cirtain Problem, but still-
would you put sh curtain or glass screen?

P.s., I have no idea why prt of my post is in different font. I didn't do anything and I don't know how to change it.

@notagaim great! I left it on for two hours by mistake as I got distracted but the top and middle are completely clear. The bottom needs a bit of a scrub still but I’d left it far too long between cleans so I’ll put some elbow grease in to it and after that a once a week soak in viakal is all I’ll need! Thank you

Curtain, as it can just be put in the wash, mine had never stuck to me but I avoid the plastic ones.

Curtain. So much easier to clean and cheap to replace.

I suppose it depends if you like cleaning, I don't.

A water softener and a going over with a microfibre cloth keeps the screen looking good. Occasionally use the Karcher in it.

I don’t see that a minute or two with a cloth is a hardship.

I don’t see that a minute or two with a cloth is a hardship.

Teens/young adults rushing out to school/work on a morning rarely remember to do that. We're in a hard water area so the limescale quickly builds up. We have 4 panels and the plastic edging on each gets mouldy so has to be taken off and bleached/replaced. Plus one of the runners has broken so one panel is very wobbly.

We used to have a curtain - far better!

Our tap water comes through limestone rock so it’s extra hard.
We use a squeegee (20 seconds after every shower) and Viakal spray once a week.
I also use a couple of pumps of Johnson’s baby shampoo (bought in hyuuuuge bottles for family use) smeared over and rinsed off at the end of my shower for its water repellant quality.

Shower curtains are a PITA.

Curtains are horrible - the way they cling to you if you accidently touch them makes me shudder.
Shower screen all the way for me.
As ItsDinah says, if it is frosted / opaque / patterned, then and marks or smears will be less obvious.

OH says this about them clinging. I don't think I ever touched ours in the previous house even once when showering- I'm small, granted, but OH is not in the least stout, so I don't know why this is. We now have a free-standing glassed in shower, I don't like it, it's claustrophobic, and when you open the door aftera nice warm shower a whole lot of freezing air comes in (in our case the room it is in, the downstairs loo, has no heating)😬 I have to take towels into it to dry myself in there before I come out. Curtains don't go moldy if you keep them clean and have an extractor fan. It is fair to say that limescale builds up on them if your water is hard. Just soak in vinegar to get it off.
