Plastic grass you have to hover. Anyone else agree?

What she needs is a magnolia tree. It looks amazing for about 3 days and then spends the vast majority of the year shedding something. It would drive her nuts.

I hate astroturf in a garden but accept that in certain circumstances it maybe makes sense. Complaining about a living tree making a mess is ridiculous though.

one of my favourite times of year was when the Avenue of cherry blossom trees in a nearby park was shedding pink blossom, covering path like snow.

Lol true. The ratio of pink to green on my magnolia tree is definitely weighted towards the green now. I'm going away for a few days tomorrow and am genuinely concerned that all the pink will be gone when we get back!

Makes me gip thinking how smelly it would get with dogs peeing and pooing all over it 🤢🤢🤢🤦‍♀️

She wants the council to trim a living tree because its blossom is falling on her plastic carpet 😆

You can't really argue with that kind of dumb-ass logic, can you?

NDN has plastic grass at the back and chopped down a perfectly beautiful ornamental cherry to replace it with gravel at the front.
I much prefer cherry blossom on my lawn/drive to the gravel they kick up.

I saw my neighbour hoovering his grass the other day. My daughter thought is was hilarious.

Daft woman could cut the overhanging branches herself though.

Haha thanks for all your brill responses, and even to the people who were brave enough to own up to having Astro turf 😉

I have an AstroTurf patch (fitted by previous owners. Yes they were stereotypical loud, no taste, hot tub loving :D )

I do find it very embarrassing & want to remove it, but will confess to getting some of the benefits - it is great for kids to play on.

thankfully more people hate artificial lawn than love it.

We have astroturf, just a small patch where the trampoline lives and the kids play on. It's so practical as the garden turns into a bog in wet weather (quite a big chunk of the year in the UK). The rest is grass, flowerbeds and blossom trees and looks lovely.
The woman in the post is mental wanting to trim a tree to protect her

*protect her grass. Madness!

I love blossom trees 😍, and I didn’t know how long it takes AstroTurf to break down. That’s so sad. I do have a bit in a separate area of the garden under a trampoline and climbing frame, but the main part of the garden is grass and flowerbeds, just no comparison.

sjxoxo · 05/05/2022 17:15

I hate it too. I’d never buy a house with it tbh!! lifeless x

Wintersgirl · 05/05/2022 18:37

We've got a pink blossom tree in our front garden, the petals have fallen on the grass and it looks so pretty, plus the petals will break down naturally, no hoovering plastic turf required..
