Plastic grass you have to hover. Anyone else agree?

I'd love to watch a neighbour hoovering their garden, brilliantly bonkers.

I secretly quite like the idea of hoovering the lawn. Though I don't think I'd fancy astro. That tree would do my head in too.

DS refers to cutting the grass as hoovering the lawn! We do have a real lawn though. My sister ( a zoologist) would stop speaking to me if I got a plastic lawn. This does show that the plastic lawns are not as low maintenance as people claim them to be.

That's an incredible amount of blossom if she's really getting that much every day...

[totally misses point of the thread]

I bet the tree is beautiful.

BadAtMaths2 · 05/05/2022 07:03

The Japanese have phrases for the fallen petals, the falling petals, the feeling when the petals have stopped falling.

it’s beautiful.

fake grass unless you have a north facing garden, kids and dogs…is an abomination.

How depressing that they don't see anything wrong with expecting a living tree to be cut so they don't have to vacuum their plastic grass.

It's so depressing 😞

Indoctro · 05/05/2022 07:07

Fake grass is hideous and look awful. If I walk past a house with it I can't help but think tackyConfused

Cornettoninja · 05/05/2022 07:07

What a daft woman. I hope the council laugh at her.

LondonQueen · 05/05/2022 07:07

I hate astroturf, but in its defence it does look a particularly cheap and nasty type in the photo, I've seen some that don't look quite as bad.

Cactuslockdown · 05/05/2022 07:18

Honestly I despair that there are people that think like this… we can only hope the next generation are better educated about the environment and this sort of attitude dies out

Margotshypotheticaldog · 05/05/2022 07:25

Mother nature is such an untidy bitch.

Margotshypotheticaldog · 05/05/2022 07:29

It’s probably the static that makes you hover
😅 🛸

suckingonchillidogs · 05/05/2022 07:36

Bloody hell, I don't hoover the house every day let alone a plastic garden. Have they had many responses OP?

MintyMoocow · 05/05/2022 07:40

It is absolutely ridiculous, the amount of hate I have for this person. There are millions of people who would love to nurture a living space, but are stuck in flats and then you get morons like this.. grrr!

Stephenthesupersquirrel · 05/05/2022 07:44

I have plastic grass and I hate it, put in by previous owners. It needs sweeping a lot and in the summer is too hot to stand on! I tried to lift it at the edges to put some plants in but underneath is several cm of hardcore and gravel….. to get rid of it is going to be a nightmare. Horrible stuff.

SoupDragon · 05/05/2022 07:45

What she needs is a magnolia tree. It looks amazing for about 3 days and then spends the vast majority of the year shedding something. It would drive her nuts.

I hate astroturf in a garden but accept that in certain circumstances it maybe makes sense. Complaining about a living tree making a mess is ridiculous though.

one of my favourite times of year was when the Avenue of cherry blossom trees in a nearby park was shedding pink blossom, covering path like snow.

20viona · 05/05/2022 07:46

Astroturf is the best!

Allthegoodusernamesareused · 05/05/2022 07:55

I'm not a fan of AstroTurf myself, but it has been a God send for my DF since he became disabled and could no longer mow his lawn. He doesn't hover it though...

Or hoover either.

Neverendingdust · 05/05/2022 07:58

I can’t stand the idea of plastic grass, it is dreadful for the environment, it looks utterly horrendous and just has that vibe of all grey interiors, hot tubs and live love laugh signs. Not for me at all.

ItsSnowJokes · 05/05/2022 08:04

I have artificial grass, we get blosson, leaves, twigs etc..... on it. We just sweep it once a month. I have hoovered it before but it buggered up the hoover so I now just sweep it. This woman is being too precious.

Cornettoninja · 05/05/2022 08:11

stuntbubbles · 04/05/2022 22:29

The temptation if you were her neighbour to give the blossom tree a good shake every time you were passing…

I like to imagine this is happening Grin

megletthesecond · 05/05/2022 08:17

She needs to give her head a wobble. Plastic grass is gross.

MarshaBradyo · 05/05/2022 08:18

LemonDrizzleSlice · 04/05/2022 21:14

She wants the council to trim a living tree because its blossom is falling on her plastic carpet 😆

Depressing

Only4You · 05/05/2022 08:44

lol this post is crazy.

Hoovering the grass.
The grass looking like a kess because it has flower petals on it.
Abd cutting the tree because it has flowers?!? once in the year?!?

It makes you wonder why people have a garden in he first place tbh.

Kendodd · 05/05/2022 08:50

Heres a solution for her. Get rid of ugly fake grass, replace with real grass (or moss) beautiful blossom, no longer a problem. And, no more hoovering.
