Wide plank or Herringbone

Just seeking opinions on flooring options really!

We're looking at LVT for the entire downstairs of our new house - lounge, hallway, kitchen diner, WC (excluding study which will be carpet).

I keep swaying between my original wish of herringbone, to looking at wide plank options

What are people's thoughts on either of the above?

I love herringbone, and I think it makes the room look more luxurious.

I don't agree that it will date, it's a classic look that's been used for centuries.

We have a lot of original herringbone parquet and it is lovely, it is 100+ years and was laid when the house was built. I don’t know if I would lay herringbone on a modern floor. It is incredibly ‘on trend’ and whilst I think it looks lovely, it’s almost certainly going to date (of course it will, the flooring companies’ marketing depts will see to that). It’s so expensive and one of the most difficult/disruptive things to change about your house that I would think very carefully.

We had to choose our floor before we moved in. I think you need to know the exact colour before you choose the pattern.
