Time capsule house, what is this thing in the kitchen?

Does anyone have an idea what that huge steel thing on the right of the kitchen is? Is it an ancient oven or some early form of fridge?

Sorry it really doesn’t have much going for it. It’s tiny for a start, for the size of the plot. The flat roof. It’s clean but not exactly full of retro features you wouldn’t find in a lot of houses with residents above a certain age. Agree with those who say it’s a building plot.

It looks like the kind of building you see on MoD sites all across the country.

I can see the merits of preserving the kitchen in a design type museum (it would have been very up to the minute for 1964) but I couldn’t live with it. I grew up in a house built around the same time and with the same style of kitchen - it wasn’t changed until 1981.
