What microwave do people have inside a larder cupboard?

Sorry for the dullest post ever, but we are getting a new kitchen installed and I need to buy a microwave for inside the larder cupboard. The shelf depth is approx 38cm.

I keep seeing ones online that are either too deep, need lots of space around them or have a tiny internal area. I realise they all need some space but we will use it with the larder doors open and we don’t actually microwave they much….hence it’s going in a cupboard!

so fit a bigger shelf.

Why don’t you want an integrated one? They don’t have to be integrated in an oven tower, they can go in a larder just as well. You would probably want to buy an extra shelf and get your fitter to cut it to go around the microwave so it is built in.

If you want non integrated then some of the retro styles would fit, but they are on the small side example

I thought integrated had to be integrated! Ie not just sat on a shelf. I’ll have a look at some, thanks.

That retro one is very cute but it’s not very powerful sadly.

Well it sort of does need to be integrated, in that the back and sides aren’t finished off nicely so it will look. bit odd just parked on a shelf. But all integrated means for a microwave is building some shelf bits around it!

Remember you will need some sockets inside the unit, probably at about worktop height. It may need ventilation slots top and bottom (with mouse-proof grilles)

Ours is just on a shelf in the larder next to the kenwood mixer and we have a few plugs in our larder too
