Found a full sharps bin in new house

I have sealed it so it isn't hazardous, but I cannot find any way to dispose of it. Local chemists won't take it, told me to call local council environmental health. Council told me to contact local chemists.
Obviously can't put it in the bin.
There is no name/number/identifying feature of the provider or recipient on it.
I have been trying for 3 weeks to find a way of disposing of it safely.
I have no idea where to try next.
I don't know where the vendors have moved to or even if it belonged to them.
Would be grateful for any suggestions.
TIA

Get estate agent to ask vendor who to contact to collect it. They may have booked a collection date already or could do so,.

I had to inject myself after my c-section with clexane. The council were supposed to arrange a collection of the needles but never did. I put them all into a sharps bin in a public toilet in the end.

@PurplePansy05

I have tried and they won't. Sad They don't know what the contents are.

Well then a local hospital, as advised previously. That's the quickest route, if not go through your solicitor to arrange with the sellers for them to dispose of it.

OP ..... forget about disposing of the needles it's not your job.
Get in touch with the estate agent / solicitor about pursuing your vendor. Either they come and collect it or they find and pay for disposal collection or something like that.

This. Unless the bin, full or empty was included in a fixtures and fittings list it's the vendors property and the vendors responsibility.

I had a box after ivf. It moved house with me twice! In the end I finally got the council to come and collect it. It’s really rubbish (excuse the pun) of the vendors to have left that behind. Good luck!

local hospital pharmacy department should take it as thats probably who gave it out.

Queenoftheashes · 01/02/2022 15:53

www.wearewithyou.org.uk/needle-syringe-services/ Just used this and called the pharmacy it suggested who confirmed they would indeed take full sharps bins
(I also have one I’m not just overly invested)
Tried to get my brother to take it as he works in a hospital. Said nah it would look weird.

I'm just about to start Clexane injections twice daily at 10 weeks pregnant until 6 weeks after delivery and I anticipate problems disposing of the sharps bins (previous experience). I've checked on my council website and they say they will collect sharps with a GP/nurse/midwife referral. Great! Then in small letters at the bottom 'We will only remove sharps when the patient is housebound'. So what am I supposed to do with them? When I go in tomorrow for my first lot, I'm not going to leave until I have a definite answer.
