Well this kitchen is certainly ‘vibrant’!

Browsing unaffordable homes whilst trying to get to sleep and came across this one. Pic 8 does suggest shades are required in the kitchen area Grin

Why is there a bath just sitting by itself on a landing? Who would want to bathe in full view of the rest of the family? Not me!

Having had a look at the floor plan because I thought exactly the same, it's actually part of the flipping enormous master suite, so it is private and behind a bedroom door.

I agree though, the photo makes it looks like it's a landing by the stairs. In fact a lot of the photos are really awful. OK, there's no disguising the mind melting paintwork but the bones of the layout aren't that bad if they were photographed properly.

For example, why haven't they picked up the bog brush & bottle of bog cleaner because photographing the toilet area!!

Clutterbugsmum · 17/08/2021 08:56

Why have such big rooms, then squeeze all you furniture in corners. So 2/3 of the room is empty.

diddl · 17/08/2021 08:57

I like it but not the layout!

The lounge appears to be in the kitchen & has to be walked through to access the dining room!

Pokhora · 17/08/2021 09:01

There seem to be a number of properties which exude money over taste in the vicinity and all seem to be vastly oversized for their plots e.g.

Love it!

SaltySheepdog · 17/08/2021 09:06

I like different couloirs so not quite my taste but it’s fun and upbeat and a million miles from unimaginative but popular grey. I’d live there in a heart beat but accessorise differently (I like retro stuff)

LoislovesStewie · 17/08/2021 09:10

Pokhora For some reason, the cinema room caused me to laugh hysterically! I don't know why. And why can't the EA say whether it's leasehold or freehold ? Weird.

blametheparents · 17/08/2021 09:23

It is a huge house, but despite this the dining room has a desk stuck in the corner - presumably so the owner can work from home. I would definitely like a proper home office with that kind of square footage available.

Ticksallboxes · 17/08/2021 09:24

The house looks so cheaply made and everything looks like it came from Dunhelm...😱

MrsSkylerWhite · 17/08/2021 09:24

Great house. Rather that than grey, grey, grey everywhere tbh.

Mantlemoose · 17/08/2021 09:26

At least it's not god awful grey!

TheSloaneRanger · 17/08/2021 09:54

I love the house but the decor makes it look like a play school

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 17/08/2021 10:07

How is it so colourful and yet still so sterile and cold?

Katefoster · 17/08/2021 12:22

Well they're certainly bold with their colours! Amazing house tho

Looks like the Cbeebies set.

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 17/08/2021 13:16

I think the EA has put a filter on those photos the colour of the grass is far too vibrant.

They often do that to photos in my area but it's normally too make them look whiter/lighter so they look bigger.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 17/08/2021 13:19

The shower in picture 22 needs re-sealing and re-grouting.

The decor of the whole house is awful. No sense of special items or personal taste in there at all. All furniture and soft furnishings and even the colours of the paint on the wall is matchy-matchy. Like someone went to Ikea and bought not quite enough furniture on the same day.

AlfonsoTheMango · 17/08/2021 13:20

Interesting! Not to my taste but I'm sure there's a buyer out there who will absolutely love it.

KingdomScrolls · 17/08/2021 13:24

I live in Essex there are so many lovely period houses that have had the guts and soul ripped out, we bought ours as a wreck and every tradesman who came in assumed we wanted to get rid of any features, 'want me to rip out that ceiling rose love?' 'i take it were going to square off that curved wall' 'what you don't want spotlights throughout?!' (that make the neighbour's house lol like an extra runway at Stansted) , 'want me to skip those big old heavy doors?' 🤦‍♀️

ufucoffee · 17/08/2021 13:33

I'm more amazed at the price of it tbh. Why is it so expensive?

ChequerBoard · 17/08/2021 14:00

It a big detached house with an indoor swimming pool in prime Essex commuter belt. 30 mins direct from Shenfield station to London Liverpool Street.

Average price in the Shenfield area is £816k, up 14% since 2019.

My thoughts exactly, whoever styled this watched too many series of Big Brother.
DukeOfEarlGrey · 17/08/2021 15:24

@ChequerBoard

Somewhere under all that hideous decor is a lovely house struggling to get free...
I’m not so sure. I can see past most things but that house is a massive cock up imo.

That kitchen when you have a headache 🤯
