I'm rather fed up.
I booked 4 months ago to have my slightly larger than average sized bathroom refitted by wickes.
It should have been started last week.
48 hours before work was due to start they phoned and told me that not only were some of the items not available bit neither were the fitters!
So...told them to stuff it and got my deposit back.
Cost: £6.5k
I approached a local firm whose work I've seen on other homes and their quote came in today.
They have a window in 8 weeks, otherwise it'll be December.
I've altered the design slightly and added a new door and moving some electrics.
Also taking the bath out and putting a shower cubicle in. Moving the toilet and the usual things like tiling, flooring etc
I know Wickes and B&Q and the like are the cheaper end of the scale but the local quote has come in at £11k.
Is that reasonable? £6.5k of that is labour?
I guess as long as they are reliable, turn up and do a good job that would be a start!
Anyone had anything similar recently?
