Where did you get your reasonably priced but nice kitchen from

We're having building work done which means we're keeping our kitchen but need an island putting in.

Our builder uses Howdens and we've been quoted £6k which seems a lot... If you've had a good kitchen that was good value where was it from?? We've just booked in at Wren but would be grateful for similar recommendations. Thanks!

Kitchens are more or less samey samey, their strengths come from being screwed together, screwed to the walls and feet being level. So most kitchens are strong enough.
End panels and doors from bandq are pretty decent quality.

In general:
Kitchens from BandQ
Worktops from worktop express
Sinks and taps shop around for what you like, can be wickes, bandq or anywhere
Appliances from AO.
Handles from ironmongery direct.

What you can’t skimp on is the the kitchen fitter. Find a carpenter/joiner to fit your kitchen rather than a “builder”.
