Navy kitchen?

I've surprised myself by thinking this might be what I want....we need to decide on colours this morning. Anyone who chose a navy kitchen who is willing to share experiences, or even photos? We're going shaker style. My only concern is whether wall units will suck light out of the room. DH won't consider white wall units as a contrast. It's quite a large room, with south, west and ceiling windows. I'm thinking white surfaces and a wooden style floor. Until now we've been set on grey but I'm concerned that's a boring choice.

this is our kitchen. sorry about the mess! we moved in quite recently and it was one of the things which made us want to buy the house, honestly. i think the white/blue contrast with worktops looks nice. plenty of light even though the window glass has blown (we are getting them sorted soon)
good luck with your renovations.

White and blue looks lovely. Who cares if it’s very 2021? The colours themselves are very timeless and if you choose a good quality kitchen and the look should stand the test of time well.

I hear emerald green is the new blue tho! Grin

@LittleOverWhelmed please can you tell me where your stools are from? I love them!

Navy kitchen being fitted at the moment. Looks great. On one wall having a couple of long shelves fitted to take away the full dark walls

A friend of mine put in a navy kitchen a couple of years ago. It’s all navy - lower and upper cabinets, island, tall dresser. It’s really beautiful and doesn’t feel dark in there at all, even though it’s north facing. Half of it is orangerie style though with skylights and big windows, so lots of daylight coming in.

I think it’s a lot more attractive than all the grey kitchens that were ubiquitous a few years ago.

Personally I’m going for natural wood, as I couldn’t choose a colour!
