Feeling totally overwhelmed by the market

Will it ever cool down? It's not even financially any more although we've certainly lost money between selling our house and now renting waiting to buy.

Every buyer out there seems to snap up a property before we can breath. I'm not comfortable putting an offer on the second a property reaches the market and yet if I don't it appears we won't ever be able to move. Just so depressed about it all. Any indications the market might slow down?
Sorry for such a depressing post but have people really benefitted from the stamp duty relief? We seem to now have to mortgage up on the extreme price increases instead of making any savings.

Yes it is so annoying, you never know then what to offer. It's the norm here. EA are encouraging this.

It’s what you have to do at the moment, sadly, in order to secure the house.

Has anyone seen a shift after end of stamp duty holiday?

In our area within a couple of weeks we've gone from everything snapped up, seller's market to loads 3 and 4 beds on Right Move, not budging.

This is Midlands.

It has slowed down in the area we are looking to buy a 'temporary' home in - the north of England.

Not much coming to market where I am.

No shift whatsoever. Few houses on the market, vast majority going above asking price. I'm in a popular city close to the south.
