Window cleaners turned up and sprayed water all over paving slabs with sealer put on 30 mins ago - wtf do I do?

Just that really.

Is there anything that can be done to fix this?

Our window cleaner doesn’t stick to a date, doesn’t bother to ring the buzzer and climbs over a 6ft gate despite being repeatedly told not to. The first sign he’s here is the noise of the water pouring from the equipment.

Hope your patio is salvageable OP.

Sparklfairy · 13/04/2021 12:22

You are really stroppy OP... I can only hope you directed some of that venom at the chauvinist window cleaner on the phone!

If it were me:

  1. Wait for it to dry and access the 'damage'
  2. Either try and remove the sealant and reapply, or just reapply third (?) coat
  3. Hope it doesn't rain
Sparklfairy · 13/04/2021 12:22

assess not access Hmm

Londongent · 13/04/2021 12:28

Wait for it all to dry and then more sealant on the affected part of the patio

PrincessBuggerPants · 13/04/2021 12:38

Thanks for all the constructive help. It is drying now and doesn't look mottled so I will probably get away with just painting some more sealer on. If that doesn't work then I will try a few of the other tricks i.e. blasting it again or making potions out of soluble aspirin.

For those saying I sound 'stroppy', 'aggressive' after being on the receiving end of threats and aggression from a man I don't know, or suggesting I needed to demonstrate taking 'personal responsibility' for some paving slabs getting wet before I was deemed worthy of a bit of DIY advice, I suggest you take some time to consider how your internalised misogyny is making you react.

I do not need to perform emotional labour online or in person in order to deserve to not be on the receiving end of threats and aggression, either online or in real life.

I suggest you take some time to consider how your internalised misogyny is making you react.

If that's the case, may I suggest you take some time to consider how that chip on your shoulder makes you react rudely to strangers online, and how that's probably not the best way to go about getting people to help you.

This thread was a treat to read.

thinkfast · 13/04/2021 13:11

Wow - OP's been given a really hard time. Can't see why. It's a massive pain to do a big job like seal paving stones, for someone to come along and ruin it is really frustrating. Hope you sort it OP.

Ps we no longer have our windows cleaned for similar reasons.

Why were you getting angry at posters before you've even explained the main issue (that they came three days early). The way you wrote the OP made it sound like you had organised it all badly.

DishingOutDone · 13/04/2021 13:23

Can you not contact the sealant manufacturers for advice?

DishingOutDone · 13/04/2021 13:24

OP if someone has sent you a PM you are not happy with then you need to report that to MNHQ. WTAF is going on here!

Quite.

All the offending posts have been deleted, so I don't know what was said.

I'm not surprised that an already stressed OP got stroppy with people who had a go at her over getting cross with the window cleaners, rather than advising her re the sealant. The only person with an excuse for being snippy is the woman whose hard work and money was compromised by window cleaners who proceeded to harass and threaten her.
The other posters on this thread had no such excuse.

RaspberryCoulis · 13/04/2021 13:50

Patio Sealer?

Why does a patio need "sealed"?

amatsip · 13/04/2021 13:58

Did they make a good job of your windows?
