Anyone seen 'The Invisible Man'? Giving me those vibes.

JellyBabiesFan · 11/04/2021 06:52

I love the grounds but the house looks like a greenhouse on acid. Yuck.

JellyBabiesFan · 11/04/2021 06:57

If I was forced to spend over £1 million within 10 miles of Tenby I would plump for the link detached on Church Terrace, Saundersfoot.

That sounds like a fun game. Somebody picks a location and minimum price and we all pick the house we like most.

Cowbells · 11/04/2021 07:19

@Pieceofpurplesky - yes, that's more like it. I want to meet the owners too - they seem interesting with all their instruments and paintings. Such a refreshing change from the acres of grey everything I've been looking at recently.

RigaBalsam · 11/04/2021 07:25

Modern house and 80s cottage furniture.
Why?

HeronLanyon · 11/04/2021 07:26

Astonishingly ugly roofline. Reminds me of Taco Bell building/hot tub showroom/ motorway services. And in such a beautiful setting !
Good god.
Love a great modern building but that is awful IMO.

Afishcalledwonderful · 11/04/2021 07:41

First thought was it's a stunning property and can imagine staying there for a holiday (not to live) and then it reminded me of the beach house in Sleeping With the Enemy 😱😳

megletthesecond · 11/04/2021 07:48

Gorgeous. But what about cliff erosion?

lljkk · 11/04/2021 07:55

I like your game idea, JellyBabies. Give it a 10 mile radius so we all come up with different preferences.

Tenby house in OP could be improved to make it liveable. I shudder at the window-cleaning cost but you build that in when you decide to buy it. it needs to be a B&B I think. There are lots of weird things about it. Noisy AF due to giant open plan. Access to one bedroom only thru "the library". 3 car garage is cool!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 11/04/2021 07:57

I love it.

madaboutrunning · 11/04/2021 08:21

OMG - this is my dream house, in a dream location. I have lusted after a Huf Haus for years, ever since I saw one on Grand Designs. I can just imagine myself living there, running over the cliffs and then relaxing by the pool. Sadly, imagining it is about as close as I'll ever be able to get!

Sandrine1982 · 11/04/2021 08:28

I NEED THIS HOUSE IN MY LIFE ShockDaffodil

NewHouseNewMe · 11/04/2021 09:33

Beautiful house although I'm partial to very modern or pre-war. Nothing in between.. I would also be worried about erosion which can change a lot depending on what happens elsewhere in the area like adding defences elsewhere.
The house that @Pieceofpurplesky posted in amazing too! I doubt anyone would get planning permission for a house where the boathouse is but it might make a nice gallery or shop.

HeronLanyon · 11/04/2021 09:44

But this is not ‘very modern’ surely in architectural terms.
Looks mid 90s / 2000 ish doesn’t it. Or slightly more recent corporate/commercial design.
Things have moved on quite a bit from this look - thank goodness imv.
Great location.

wishywashywoowoo70 · 11/04/2021 15:07

Got nosing on zoopla last night as a friend mentioned her house was up for sale.

Disappointed not to see hers online to bitch at check out.
However saw some crazy priced houses in the seaside area where I live.

When I was a lass you could buy a 3 bedroom semi for 30k around here in a fairly decent area too.

Can't imagine how the kids ever get in the properly ladder these days

Would be fun to rent it for a week and party in it, but I find it rather soulless for lying term living.

chloechloe · 11/04/2021 19:23

I love Huf houses but am not a fan of the double pitched roof. We were thinking about building one ourselves but then chickened out. They are amazing though. For all those lamenting the lack of net curtains, they generally have external electric blinds for privacy!

jaundicedoutlook · 11/04/2021 19:51

I do like Hufs, but I’d be wanting the whole of Wales for 3m...
