Beko appliances?

Having just seen a thread about the Blue Light card I logged on mine to see if they have appliance discounts as am sorting mew everything for a kitchen renovation.

There's 25% off Beko.

Is this a good brand or not? DH is stuck on everything has to be Bosch but I want to spend less if possible!

Thanks

Well...not forever! But much longer than you would expect for the price

Beko are very good now, they own Grudig the German manufacturer. My dishwasher is Beko after having awful problems with 3 newer Bosch's in quick succession (the Bosch before that had lasted me years though), it's not missed a beat. My Beko washing machine lasted me 7 years, again without an issue & it had the courtesy to finish it's cycle before it died.

Love my beko washing machine, Will definitely get another when this one goes, 12 years old and still going strong.

Ime fridge and dishwasher great and last 5 years so far, but 2 washing machines broke

I had a very expensive Bosch fridge - the handle fell off after about 3 months and Bosch refused to replace the handle under guarantee because apparently a handle is 'cosmetic'. When that fridge died, at around five years old after the seal rotted, we replaced it with a Beko. I loved that fridge and we had it a good number of years. The only reason we didn't replace that with another Beko was because they didn't make one that would fit the space available and I wasn't about to redesign the entire kitchen to accommodate a fridge. I would happily have another appliance of theirs. I would never buy Bosch again.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I think I might go with it to save the £££ as everything is just costing the earth at the moment.

Then get a posh new toaster!

I've never had Beko before renting this apartment and we have a Beko stove and washer dryer. They are really good! When we next buy I'm buying them

TheThingsWeAdmitOnMN · 17/04/2021 19:04

@rainbowthoughts

They are a budget brand with a history of appliance fires. I would never buy their products.

Me either.

Lots of posters have posted positively, but they had a bad time with being crap (breaking down) & being the cause of many house fires. I wouldn't touch them.

minniemooblue, I found your post concerning. I did extensive research before I purchased my Beko appliances...could you quote an evidence source please? I have not been able to fine evidence of this particular brand linked with what you suggest? I have seen evidence about other brands, but not this one.

Not minnimooblue sorry.opppps. I was meant to ask about what @TheThingsWeAdmitOnMN mentioned in their post.

We are on our second secondhand Beko freezer - we've got a bigger one now. No fire issues with this model. We had a Beko washing machine at our hold house and I loved it - we sold it to the people who bought th house because there was a washer in the house we were buying. We've got a secondhand small (5kg) Beko washer as a stop gap as the Panasonic one died and wasn't economical to repair and lots of washers are out of stock due to pandemic supply issues and we needed a washer quickly. £25 from an auction. Does a good job just not very big and the highest spin speed 1000rpm is crap for things like towels.

We have a Beko dishwasher that is 10 years old and still going strong. We’ve replaced a couple of minor parts which I got on eBay but that’s it! It’s also survived a house move. Super impressed!

Sorry, not without doing the research all over again. I didn't keep any of the reports etc. Maybe rainbowthoughts can help?

We got a beko fridge with the house we bought, it finally gave up after 15 years minimum.

Should have said, it's outlived a Bosch dishwasher (2 in ten years) and a Bosch washing machine, we are on our 3rd machine in 15 years having had 2 in five years and now have a beko machine.
