Best navy for a feature wall?

I know, I completely lack original thought, but I do genuinely like navy feature walls, I know it'll date.

Anyway, our living room is a good size and dual aspect with patio doors at one end, so plenty of light to get away with a dark colour I think and the rest of the walls and furniture are white or light. Do you have a favourite navy shade? I don't know there to begin thanks.

I am eager for answers. We are mid bathroom Nd I want navy on a part of a wall. Unoriginal navy white combo but I dont want it to look washed out. A muscular navy with good depth.

Our bedroom is Dulux Breton Blue, it’s a really deep, rich navy. It works really well with white woodwork.

Possumcat · 03/02/2021 18:47

Just did a wall in our living room in Dulux Sapphire Salute and its lovely...

katieg03 · 03/02/2021 18:51

A lot of people use sapphire salute by Dulux. There's a great page on FB called DIY on a budget if you want some ideas

We've got Antibes by B&Q on our living room chimney breast. I love it.

Farrow & Ball Stiffkey or Hague Blue. Both beautiful dark blues

PresentingPercy · 03/02/2021 19:05

Scotch Navy is the deepest blue by F&B. Here it is in a bedroom.

Anything but Dulux Sapphire Salute because that's what everyone on DIY On a Budget use en masse and that is exactly why it's old news. You don't want to copy anything you see on there.

PuttingOnMyParts · 03/02/2021 20:16

Little Greene Hicks Blue.

Hague Blue f&b

user86386427 · 03/02/2021 20:32

I love Hague Blue that's stunning, but not sure I can justify £66 for a tin 😬

You can get F&B copy-mixed at a decorators centre which should make a bit of a saving

Our Hallway is Stiffkey Blue and it's lush.

I’m currently looking at F&B Scotch Blue for our sitting room, even more lovely than Sapphire Salute.

PeachPotato · 03/02/2021 22:15

Stiffkey blue colour matched

SazCat · 03/02/2021 22:19

We have Valspar paint from B&Q in Tuxedo Blue in our bedroom, I love it!

NWnature · 03/02/2021 22:47

I’ve got basalt from little greene in our hallway, it’s a dark blue black navy

PresentingPercy · 03/02/2021 23:07

F&B do Black Blue. That’s a really dark one!

Londonmummy66 · 03/02/2021 23:10

Don't go for FB blue black as it is more purple than blue. I have a whole room in FB railings and it is an amazing colour.

nyenc · 04/02/2021 00:07

Oh god yeah! Our Hague was colour matched - not made of money 😂

PresentingPercy · 04/02/2021 06:39

Black Blue is navy in some lights but personally I would use F&B Scotch Navy. Yes they are more expensive paints but they have a nicer finish. Not the most expensive home improvement you’ll ever buy! A few ££££ extra for paint doesn’t break most people’s diy budget. Usually £48 a tin.

Timperleybell · 04/02/2021 07:26

Tikkurila Denim is a beautiful dark blue. Not as well know as other brands but generally liked by the trade.

wowfudge · 04/02/2021 07:55

If you want navy, what on earth is wrong with Dulux Sapphire Salute?! Sounds like snobbery to me.

Dinasaurcatcher · 04/02/2021 08:06

@wowfudge it is snobbery. I’ve used sapphire salute and the quality of the paint and the colour is fantastic.

user86386427 · 04/02/2021 08:12

@wowfudge I hope that wasn't directed at me, I didn't know of any navy names prior to this thread, it's not just the colour I'm interested in but quality of paint, very happy to be told the cheapest looks and goes on well, the cheaper the better!
