Will these tiles look ok?

Before anyone says, yes it is just a standard new build kitchen. I'm aware they aren't everyone's cup of tea.

I'm wondering if this splashback will look ok? The cupboards are an off-white/light grey colour and the worktops are a premium laminate with a chalet oak effect. Our floor is quickstep LVT in a slate effect. The tiles themselves are thin gloss metro tiles laid herringbone, they are edited on here but they'd go up to the top of the extractor too.

Does it look ok? Or does the tiles being white clash with the light grey cupboards? I will be adding colour through plants and accessories before anyone says it's bland. I don't want to commit to a colour in the tiles as then I can't mix it up. Opinions much appreciated Smile

@YellowEllis

The picture I posted isn't actually my kitchen, it's just someone I found with a new build who's made the same choices (besides the tiles that I edited on)

This is my actual kitchen, not my choices though so ignore the tiles and worktop this plot is just further ahead than me so I managed to get some pictures. I'm hoping it's not enough tiles to look really busy?

I really like the tiles in this one.
Sorry that isn't any help 🤷🏼‍♀️

You need to think about how the herringbone tiles will work around wall sockets. It’s not a coincidence that most of these beautiful images of herringbone designs are in bathrooms or above stoves / hobs where there’s no tiles.

If you already owned the house you could avoid wall sockets by moving them below the work tops or putting isolated switches for appliances inside adjacent units. But I’m not sure if your builder will do that - you could always ask. IME they are very keen on sockets and Switches everywhere and sometimes don’t even line them up.

We've swapped for a herringbone floor and a white quartz worktop today. I'm waiting for a quote for a quartz splashback too but we've already massively stretched budgets for the worktop, so if it's too high I might keep the plain white gloss tiles we had planned in the first pic (but obviously have them laid flat rather than herringbone)

Like this?
Those are lovely. I was only looking at them yesterday.

OP that floor is a chevron pattern, not herringbone Grin however I prefer it to the slate colour and think the room will be warmer for it. Quartz worktop will be so much nicer than the laminate however premium.

You know you could have those grey patterned tiles now right? Smile

Dh just corrected me on this aswell! Grin Yes Chevron oak floor and a white quartz worktop, the quote came in less than we thought so we've managed to get the upstand and the splashback in quartz too so we aren't using any tiles now Smile

The only thing I’d like to add is white grout is hard to keep clean, we did it and I she we’d gone for grey or black.
I’ve recently heard you can seal the ground which helps keep it bright.
Personally I’d go for A with the white tiles (at the way to the top of the extractor) and dark grey grout. I’d add posts if colour with plants and pictures.
