I went dark grey with rose gold handles last year.

I sort of wish I went navy instead but it's in now.

The work tops are glittery but you can't really see from that picture and my blinds are on order.

I’m going with light grey and I’m very conflicted about it. I’d love an interesting blue but the room needs calming and cream (my first choice) isn’t working here. I love navy kitchens. It’s too dark for this space though.

FinallyFluid · 25/01/2021 18:39

Our space is quite small (understatement) but we went for white (with silvery bits) I am sure there is a technical term. Grin work tops and proper old fashioned gloss on the door surrounds and skirting boards.

The paint makes the white pop, the joiners term, not mine.

We also painted the walls a very very pale primrose yellow.

I've found a new favourite kitchen colour! I think they're called Cashmere Kitchens - and it's like a soft pink. You can see some kitchen wall examples here and I love it because it feels like pink shouldn't work in the kitchen but it does! Not sure if I have it in me to DIY with a toddler running round though!

Damn your eyes! We’re having a new kitchen next year and I’ve just fallen in love with that colour. I can see I’m going to spend a lot of time persuading the bloke it’s not really pink!

White shaker style with beech coloured wooden worktop, fairly timeless I hope. It'll have to do me at least 15 years

mumdone · 28/01/2021 19:50

Ammonite main run a black island. Looks amazing

Ghislainedefeligonde · 28/01/2021 20:38

Mostly cream but also some dark green, with wooden worktops

XingMing · 28/01/2021 20:55

My 2018 kitchen isn't a colour, but is a distressed limed wood effect with taupe faux marble counters. It was chosen to be very neutral so that when we sell this house, it's easy to change with a coat of paint.

We are having cornflour blue cupboards and a white shimmery with specs of silver quartz worktops. We have original parquet flooring which we are going to sand and restain.

MacaroniSaysShetlandPony · 02/02/2021 23:02

I went with cream cabinets, wood worktops and introduced colour with tiles and 2 different paint colours on the walls. Hoping to move again shortly and recreate it!

@LittleOverwhelmed thank you!

Seeingadistance · 03/02/2021 01:23

I'm thinking of either pink or a turquoise/blue/green, painted doors. Very small kitchen, with base units only. I already have a dresser and chairs painted darker and lighter shades of pink.

SollaSollew · 03/02/2021 09:48

We have gone with shaded white, it's like an off white, greyish, mushroom colour. This was my inspiration.

Cream with oak worktops.

EuroTrashed · 03/02/2021 10:07

I'm spraying mine Paint & Paper library wedgewood blue. We've got a dark slate grey floor and light grey granite (mottled) worktops that are too expensive to change so I needed to lighten the whole thing up but didn't want white / cream and black floor as I remember the 90s. It's all flat front - I think white / cream looks great with shakery style wood but I'm very much over white flat front as it just looks like every kitchen IKEA sold in the 90s. ANd god no gloss.

IndecentFeminist · 03/02/2021 12:37

I'm still undecided. Will be going with DIY kitchens, probably mussel for the main run and Cobham blue for the island

My other choice would be a shaded white

I've also got Navy with a dove grey Island, I love it - fitted a year ago and chose it summer 2019 - online navy and also silver

Toorapid · 03/02/2021 12:46

Hmm, I've been thinking light grey, but a bit concerned that I only like it because it seems to be current. Didn't even consider grey last time (20 years ago). Now I'm thinking cream....

Insomniacexpress · 03/02/2021 12:51

We put in very dark navy shaker with white quartz tops, brass cup pulls. Love it.

harknesswitch · 03/02/2021 13:12

I love navy and have been trying to convince my dh but we both think it would look fab for a few years and then date quite quickly. I'd have white worktops

Sounds exactly like what we're in the middle of doing! Where did you get yours from? We're probably getting diy kitchens cobham blue for base units, mussel/alabaster for wall units, white carrara/calacatta quartz worktops and brass t bar handles, but trying to source the worktops and handles myself :)
