white. Possibly with a black island

ramblingsonthego · 25/01/2021 12:14

We have a very small kitchen and going for white shaker style units and light oak laminate worktop. I would prefer quartz but this house would not be worth spending the £££ on for quartz and we know this is only a 5-7 year house hopefully so we do not want to go over the ceiling price for the road. We went with white to just keep it as light as possible due to the size.

F&B Railings with a white or very light grey quartz worktop.

ShirleyCurly · 25/01/2021 12:48

Probably light grey (usually dove in the brochures). I'd love to go dark blue but scared, and we've had dark grey before.

On Insta, I love the F&B painted ones, but I don't think our budget will go that far!

Bleughbleughbleugh12 · 25/01/2021 12:51

I would like either navy or black shaker with solid wood work tops

Lottle · 25/01/2021 12:52

Olive green!

Twentyweektraining · 25/01/2021 12:54

Acorn green (Little Greene) light oak tops

NiceTwin · 25/01/2021 12:55

Cream or white shaker style.
We live in a farmhouse and I don't think ultra modern would go, as much as I like them.

ginghamtablecloths · 25/01/2021 12:56

I'd go for cream as it looks good in a small room and it's a bit warmer than white.

themummyway · 25/01/2021 12:59

Saw a lovely Treron coloured Kitchen on Farrow and Ball's Insta the other day. Loved that.

Otherwise, a neutral colour with woody tones

FinallyFluid · 25/01/2021 13:05

Thank you everyone.

It was a retrospective question, as we went for navy, but sometimes I question my choice. Probably wouldn't if I wasn't shielding. Grin

Little things, little things.

No way we could have cream, as we have a border collie who likes to paint anything at tail level with mud.

I am just starting to look and decide but I think I will go for white shaker style too.

@LittleOverwhelmed - funnily enough I’ve just been looking at pictures of the kitchen in my old house. We had a Little Greene French Navy peninsular and wall with pale grey for the other units and white marble (effect!) and iroko worktops. It was a lovely combination. I miss that kitchen so much Sad

FlouncingBabooshka · 25/01/2021 16:29

Sorry - Royal Navy, not French navy! I studied every navy going and Royal Navy was the perfect choice for the look I wanted.

Amijustagrump · 25/01/2021 16:44

Cream shaker with oak worktops!

Schoolhouse123 · 25/01/2021 16:53

I'm going cream.
My joiner says he's putting in lots of navy ones at the moment (he thought it was the new grey).

alecguinnessgenuineclass · 25/01/2021 17:05

If our house sale goes ahead I want to paint the kitchen dark green. This is my inspiration...

What can I say, I was clearly ahead of the market. it has been in eighteen months and picked two years ago. Grin

I’m replacing our kitchen cupboard doors for a bluey-grey shaker style - colour is similar to Oval Room Blue (F&B). Keeping the charcoal quartz worktops.

I did think of cream as a sensible option, but as we’re not doing a full refit not intending to sell, decided to go for something we both love. White walls, keeping the oak floors.

Chasingsquirrels · 25/01/2021 18:07

I did mine in sage green shaker units autumn 2019.
