Metro tiles - done to death?

We've put metro tiles in our new bathroom - with one blank wall as paint.

Just read on another post that they are done to death - surely not? Shock.

Love that, @scentedgeranium

If we’re sharing photos, here are my metro tiled guest bathrooms that I’ve just finished. Bevelled, and dark grouted white for the full institutional/Rotherhithe Tunnel look Grin

We had our bathroom done about four years ago and we're going to use them, the fitter suggested. It as they were on the way out if the trends, I'm glad we listened to him.

Wow, people have not one, but two guest bathrooms?!

Jealous!

There's only so many tile shapes though. Square medium sized, square tiny, rectangular medium sized, rectangular enormous, fancy weird shaped tiles. Metro (rectangular medium) is fine. Agree with PPs I hate the enormous beige ceramic tiles. Got them in one of our bathrooms and can't work out what to do in that room (bathroom is decent quality and not ancient so don't want to rip out). In comparison the mosaic tiles in the other bathroom are a delight, but they are marble which helps a lot.

Venus what’s the green section above the tiles on your second picture? I love it but I can’t work out if it’s tiles, wallpaper or a window (viewing pics on small phone screen, sorry) Blush

@scentedgeranium those herringbone tiles are lovely but I'd argue they are not standard metro. We have very similar tiling in shower room - they're longer and thinner than standard.

@GiraffeNecked really not keen on the bevelled ones either. Flat both nicer to look at and easier to clean. In my opinion!

It’s wallpaper. Perspective Jardin by Rebel Walls.
