Would you be able to see past this? The grounds are lovely size and the planning for another property interesting.

Not sure I’d be able to see past the clutter!!

I quite like the kitchen minus the clutter.

Pipandmum · 11/11/2020 21:08

Nothing to entice me there. Take away the clutter and you will have those awful textured walls and ironwork. Yuck. A tear down.

MaidenMotherCrone · 11/11/2020 21:13

Looks like an homage to Barbara Cartland.

Trikebaby · 11/11/2020 21:15

Omg I see a snake! Is it real??

Why has the EA thought that it would be a good idea to post those photos?

Toilet seat up. Hoarders carrier bags. Just grim.

dudsville · 11/11/2020 21:23

They need the Kondo hotline.

Melonportal · 11/11/2020 21:28

I'd knock it down and start again.

BustPipes · 11/11/2020 21:29

Only problem for me would be the 'conservatory', which I sort of like what they've done with, but don't have either the time or the green fingers to maintain.

Otherwise, yep, I can see past the decor. Just as I do with every house painted grey with a kitchen island, where I think "Well, that's a whole house paint job and kitchen refit".

One would hope that, unlike the people who paint stuff grey, these people have some concept of taste, understand that theirs may not be to everyone's, and have priced accordingly.

MoirasRoses · 11/11/2020 21:31

There’s a walking stick in the shower Confused

I was just coming on to point that out!
merryhouse · 11/11/2020 21:35

That is a weird set of pictures. There's the original owner - very like my great-aunt or my old piano teacher, with added Trinket Fetish - and then someone else has moved in with their home office and their massive tv.

PuppyLover2020 · 11/11/2020 21:36

This is just up the road from me Grin

And no, I couldn’t see past the clutter either!

FlumpetCrumpet · 11/11/2020 21:37

It’s a belt! But I did the same, “holy fuck, look at that massive snake” 😱😱😱

I think the plot is lovely and the light flooding in through the kitchen window is beautiful but on the whole it needs a total rethink and I’m not sure sticking an extra bungalow on the plot is the best solution. I guess it depends on the area though and the people who are likely to want to live there.

picklemewalnuts · 11/11/2020 21:39

I think it's lovely, clutter aside. Needs new bathrooms/internal arrangements.

I suspect damp- there's a cleared bedroom and a fan.

Beautiful spot, high ceilings, lots to go at.

But expensive for the area I'd say. Probably go to a developer.

I was thinking exactly the same. Just why? Why take the photos - they do the opposite of whetting the appetite. And if you’re the vendor why allow them?

I feel really guilty and voyeuristic looking at photos like these. I can’t stare at them for long .. I have to look away. I’m so embarrassed for the seller but feel sorry for them and guilty all at the same time.

This house is not a suitable one to follow the trend in taking internal photos.

DespairingHomeowner · 11/11/2020 21:43

Picture 16.., house comes with its own GHOST Shock

StumpedOnceMore · 11/11/2020 21:43

.. and sorry to answer your question, I couldn’t stomach that amount of work so seemingly I can’t see past the photos ..

Whatsnewpussyhat · 11/11/2020 21:43

Knock it down and build 2 new luxury 3 beds you'd probably get £700+ each for.

ivykaty44 · 11/11/2020 21:44

I think the fact there is a perching stool in the shower indicates the house may belong to someone with limited mobility

The bathroom was very stylish in the early 1970s and is very functional

scrivette · 11/11/2020 21:47

Yes I can see past the clutter.

I don't think that they are the best photos though, I think the agent just took a few snaps then escaped!

The photo showing the back of the door with coats on is odd, why wasn't it taken from the door looking in as I would have thought it would make the room look larger.

picklemewalnuts · 11/11/2020 21:47

There are a lot of features that were once very luxurious and stylish. That mirror/mantelpiece wall arrangement will have been very striking, once. Some beautiful expensive furnishings in there.

Sadly, many of us outlive our ability to manage our homes.

And the snake would be a belt.

fruitbrewhaha · 11/11/2020 21:48

They need the Kondo hotline.

They need a fire.

picklemewalnuts · 11/11/2020 21:52

This is someone's dearly loved home and belongings. Yes, someone will need to do a lot of work preparing it for sale. Much of it can't be done ahead of time- I've just helped my elderly mother move. She was unable to countenance things being moved or downsized.

SlippersForFlippers · 11/11/2020 22:00

Yes I could see past it, there'd be alot of work to do. If I looked around I think I'd be able to image what the end result would be.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 11/11/2020 22:03

Is the snake in picture 19? I was looking for a case or something to keep it in; it took me a few goes to find it. Did an EA really stand there & take a picture with a snake in the room?
