What do you have in your living room bay window?

What do you currently have in your bay window? A sofa, the TV, a bench window, nothing?

Just want ideas for arranging the room.

A built-in window seat with storage that we had put in. DH's shoes are in there and we have to remember to get them all out before we put the Christmas tree on it Grin

Nothing except some of ds's toys on the floor as I don't like things in front of a window. The only exception is the tree at Christmas

DramaAlpaca · 10/10/2020 17:54

The dogs' leather sofa. They like to watch the world go by through the window, so that's where the most dog proof sofa is.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 10/10/2020 17:56

A built in window seat. Mostly used by the cat. In truth, I'd like to pull it out so that the tree fits better. I do like the tree in the window!

Mumofwho · 10/10/2020 18:07

Generally empty might be the best thing by the sounds of it. If I put a bench seat there, it would reduce flexibility.

Another one with a small sofa, lovely for sitting in the sun.

MoodShiteing · 10/10/2020 18:09

I have an expensive oak blanket box that was untended to hold lovely throws and cushions as well as doubling up as an extra seat in the window if needed.

In reality it's an over-priced bed for the cat.

Crystal87 · 10/10/2020 18:16

An armchair.

Acornacorn · 10/10/2020 18:53

Nothing but we’ve just had the radiator moved from there so looking forward to being able to put the Christmas tree there!

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 10/10/2020 18:58

A window seat

bravotango · 10/10/2020 19:04

A beautiful column radiator, leather butterfly chair and a giant plant.

anothermansmother · 10/10/2020 19:06

A sofa. It's a huge bay, I did debate a window seat but the sofa is so much more comfortable and practical.

IckyPop · 10/10/2020 19:28

Lego 🙄

BeBraveAndBeKind · 10/10/2020 19:31

A rocking chair apart from in December when the Christmas tree goes there.

RevolutionRadio · 10/10/2020 19:49

@ickypop just to let you your Lego will get discoloured and more brittle from being in the window. Might want to move it if it's expensive sets!

mamaduckbone · 10/10/2020 19:55

A chair and a penguin donkey.

Thecazelets · 10/10/2020 20:29

Sofa. I'd really like to put the Christmas tree there in December but I worry it would crisp up and dry out really quickly being so close to the radiator.

We have a penguin donkey too!

I wondered if anyone would know what it was but couldn't quite think how to explain it. I love ours...it was Dh's wedding present from me, many moons ago.
TheTurnOfTheScrew · 10/10/2020 21:04

toy box, filled with toys that no-one plays with but that they also won't part with Hmm.
One day I shall get rid of the lot and replace with a coffee table and some sort of enormous houseplant

6PeopleInAPubSafeHomeUnsafe · 10/10/2020 21:17

A 3 seater sofa

Thecazelets · 10/10/2020 21:29

@mamaduckbone Ours is a Mark 2 - we got it from the Isokon shop for our first flat, so nearly 20 years ago!

MiracletoCome · 10/10/2020 21:36

A radiator with an airer on it with my knickers hanging from it. One good thing about this Covid is we don’t get unexpected visitors now.

hettie555 · 10/10/2020 21:42

A Victorian fern on a wooden chest.
It's replaced by a Christmas tree in December🎄

IcanandIwill · 10/10/2020 21:53

A chaise lounge. Seasonally replaced by a tree at Christmas!
