House A: new build, all flooring included (Amtico), has driveway for two cars. Three beds, large master suite with dressing area and en-suite on second floor, kitchen, cloakrooom and living room on ground floor but also has a garden office. Could move in and no need to spend any money. 77 square metres.

House B: old house, bags of character and 4 small rooms downstairs (kitchen, lounge, dining room, study). Three beds, no en-suite, no downstairs loo. Parking is not next to the house. Is right on a main road. Only one bathroom and will need money spending on it. 96 square metres.

Losing my mind, please help!

It would have to be house B if it wasn't on a main road and without parking but reluctantly house A in the circumstances.

@Saz12

Just seen links! Definitely B!!! What work would you want to do to it?
I can't see the links, can anybody PM them to me please?
Treacletoots · 03/10/2020 08:33

Aww. I've had both. I can say current we are in similar to A and loving not having to constantly do work on the house because old houses ALWAYS need something doing to them, and wondering if you can park your car every evening.

Veryhungrycaterpillar84 · 03/10/2020 08:37

Depends on the price.
If you don’t mind renovating and B is cheaper and has potential to add downstairs bathroom, en-suite,
create open plan living etc then might go for B.

Decision made for me - House B vendors have gone with the other offer so it's going to be House A!

The main road would be a done deal and I'd avoid! House A! Does it have room to extend as it seems it's floor space comes from using the loft room?

sunshinesupermum · 03/10/2020 12:41

charlie Shame you lost out on B but is there really no other option than house A? It just seems too small overall. What is in its favour other than being somewhere you don't have to do any work to?

purpleflowers7 · 03/10/2020 13:02

I can't see the photos other people are referring to as they have been removed? But without question from your OP I would chose house a.

itbemay1 · 03/10/2020 15:05

A

I live in a B and the work is never ending & the parking drives me mad!

We're looking for As!

House A has also now sold 🙈😂

I'm about to go and look at House C - wish me luck. Fingers crossed it hasn't already been snapped up too Grin
