Holiday cottage without bath?

We're thinking of buying a holiday cottage to let out as a business. I'm looking at one with just a shower and no bath. Personally I find this offputing but wondered what others thought.

I wouldn't care now but when my kids where small i would have done. They were shower tray phobic!

Depends who you are aiming at really.

Urgh and a hot tub would not be a factor in me choosing it. VOM.

I thought that would be the mumsnet reaction Grin. I guess it depends on your target market. It seems to work for centre parcs.

If it was for a short let 1-2 nights then I'd consider it. Any longer and no, I'd want a bath. And a king-size bed!

If it's aimed at families and for a week's stay vs just a weekend then a bath is handy for washing younger children.

It wouldnt bother me, we tend to do caravan holidays now we have kids and they rarely have baths.

Nyclair · 17/09/2020 16:11

The lack of bath wouldn't put me off but one bathroom/toilet for 3 bed would

CorianderLord · 17/09/2020 16:34

I never bath when I'm on holiday anyway. Always just shower. But might not be great for kids

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 17/09/2020 16:38

Wouldn't bother me at all, but in our holiday let we squeezed in an en-suite instead of a third bedroom, plus a small family bathroom with a bath, shower over it. It's great for families of 4 or two couples/friends. I wouldn't rent somewhere with 3 bedrooms and just one toilet unless it was just my family of 4.

I don't book any holiday cottage unless it has a bath , washer/dryer and WiFi. I want a home from home. I suppose it depends what market your appealing too. I fo a lot of hiking so after a 15 mile a hike a shower would cut it for me.

toomanyspiderplants · 17/09/2020 16:58

I prefer a bath and shower but if it just had a shower if it was good otherwise I would book.

Dinosauraddict · 18/09/2020 06:54

Pre-kids it wouldn't have bothered me at all. Now I'd be wanting a bath for DS.

whataboutbob · 18/09/2020 21:12

Yorkshire is cold most of the time though- no disrespect intended. I’d want a bath. On holiday in croatia 1 shower and no bath isn’t an issue, in the north of England it would be for me.

transformandriseup · 18/09/2020 21:31

I can't remember the last time I had a bath as I always just shower plus we only have one bathroom at home so if we were still childless it wouldn't bother me at all. I do bath DD so I would probably look for somewhere with a bath now.
