I drive past this house most weeks and always seemed intrigued by it for some reason, now I see why!

It’s a million miles away from what I like, but at the same time I strangely really like it!

ChristopherTracy · 10/07/2020 10:20

I think its great, apart from the yellow.

FlowerOfTheValley · 10/07/2020 10:36

The decor itself is not to my taste but the house itself is great and the garden is stunning. Wonderful greenhouse.

ColdOopNorth · 10/07/2020 11:01

This is my dream house - and it is just up the road from me but way out of our price range. It is very colourful too but still, I love that it is different and they are not just following the crowd here www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-72141010.html

Cottipus · 10/07/2020 11:09

@ColdOopNorth that is actually a really tasteful and appropriate use of colour for the character of the house.

Beverley is a lovely spot. I don’t know the villages nearby well but I can imagine they are similarly nice.

BarbedBloom · 10/07/2020 11:21

I love the blue kitchen. I much prefer colour to boring grey and white. I hate renting

ColdOopNorth · 10/07/2020 11:40

Cottipus - it has been on the market a while now, it is in the most idyllic location just on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. I love the use of colour too but I guess it is not to everyone's taste and whoever buys it will probably paint it all white...

chunkyrun · 10/07/2020 11:42

Bar the red living room I love it!

Winederlust · 10/07/2020 11:45

Wow! Love the mural in the dining room, but the obvious obsession with pink not so much!
Nothing a lick of paint wouldn't fix, and it's so refreshing to see something other than shades of grey/footballers wife decor.

mollokoy · 10/07/2020 11:59

I love it.

DianasLasso · 10/07/2020 12:03

@DareDevil223

the owner's passion for the arts is evident Masterly understatement from the estate agent there... Grin
I can just imagine the estate agent's face while they wrote that. Grin

I can see what they were trying to do, and it would work in a bigger space, but in a modest sized house "less is more."

Still, it pales into insignificance compared to the rightmove link someone put up last year to a place in America. To start with it looked like a perfectly nice suburban house... until, about 30 shots in, you got to the sex dungeon! ShockConfusedGrin

Saz12 · 10/07/2020 17:43

I really like it! Some parts are a bit overblown, but I bet the owner(s) lived their home.
I really like the colours in “your” house too, ColdOopNorth, though a bit tame in comparison!

fatgirlslimmer · 10/07/2020 17:56

@ColdOopNorth oh the lovely Bishop Burton Many years ago I used to drive through there every week and wish I lived there.

merryhouse · 10/07/2020 20:09

You have to wonder what they were growing in those massive greenhouses....

@Gingernaut it's definitely a real bookcase - take a look in picture 2

PeterPomegranate · 10/07/2020 22:23

I like it. I wouldn’t have the confidence but I think colour in a home is warm and welcoming. I don’t like the fashion for grey and think it will date badly.

LazyFace · 11/07/2020 06:02

Oh my.... it's perfect!

Asgoodasarest · 11/07/2020 12:31

While it’s not all my cup of tea, I find it so refreshing to see a house that’s clearly a home.
