Any recent experience of this company? At the point of getting from quotes from companies and so far these seem best
Thank you

@mumdone it's looking that way for me definitely but I do have to factor in cost of painting the units.

@Sooverthemill - this is our hand drawn plan. D&A have also quoted for over fridge cupboard which we may not want - it also includes all end panels and architrave etc. all units are 1m wide. The cooker is in the wrong place as we will need worktop each side so the whole thing may be rearranged by the architect.

@Qc16 thank you that's reasonably similar to the number of units we are having. Very helpful!

Should have added they are providing doors for that corner pantry unit and also of course not all 1m wide as the under sink and bin cupboards are smaller. Also not sure if I want the dishwasher integrated or not - they have quoted for a door for that which if we don’t have it will bring the price down a bit.

Sooverthemill · 18/06/2020 20:09

@Qc16 we haven't gone for integrated dishwasher as our American fridge/freezer and range cooker are white so I'm not fussed. Only saves£170 though! I've had a revised quote today from them and it's a little over £9 k now plus painting and fitting. I think that's what we will go for

Great! What delivery date are you looking at?

mumdone · 18/06/2020 20:32

@Sooverthemill I’m lost on this thread now. Are you going with HMKOC? Is it 9k fitted and painted?

Sooverthemill · 18/06/2020 20:51

@Qc16 we need September fit.

@mumdone, no £9 k is primed. They don't supply painted cabinets

So you’ll be receiving your kitchen before me as I have had to delay ours until Nov due to planning and building so I shall watch this thread with interest!

Sooverthemill · 18/06/2020 21:18

Haha there's irony! I have 2 more quotes to come in but I can't see them beating HMK tbh.

HMKC are cheap for a reason - two friends kitchens the doors don't close property and loads of dents as the wood is so soft, it basically looks v handmade

Sooverthemill · 18/06/2020 21:47

@Remmy that's interesting. Our kitchen fitter was pleased that we were considering them because he's fitted 3 before and he said they were perfect. Very well constructed and no alterations needed. Was this recently? I'm guessing any company would have some fails

So unfortunate to have 2 friends with the same problems! It’s not something I’ve seen reported before. The wood they use is the same wood as the very expensive kitchen companies use - Tulipwood.
SHAR0N · 18/06/2020 22:27

I bought my kitchen from them 12 years ago and it still looks great, Im really happy with it.

For some reason they have my kitchen as 2014 on their website but it was bought and installed in 2006.

SHAR0N · 18/06/2020 22:33

I chose wall units that were extra high, as we have high ceilings . And 10cm deeper than standard as I wanted more space on the worktop.

I’ve just checked for dents in the cupboards and we have none, even though our children were under 5 when we got it ( lots of racing around on bikes and pushing prams) . There’s some paint chips of course and some scratches on the wooden worktop, as you would expect after 14 years of family life.

Remmy123 · 19/06/2020 07:21

Don't know - maybe it's the fitter that wasn't great, one does have a large island and a toddler that possibly has bashed into it?!

Thanks SHARON - good to know it still looks great after 14 years. Would you mind sharing a link to your kitchen on their website?

Our previous kitchen was shaker style and and built and installed by our builder 22 years ago. It was originally a bright Mediterranean blue as that was the fashion then - about 10 years ago we had repainted in F&B Parma Grey. It still looked great when we sold the house.

SHAR0N · 19/06/2020 10:18

@Sooverthemill

I was just about to tell you which one was ours when I noticed that they actually have our surname ( which is quite unusual ) on the photos! So please forgive me if I don’t.

Also I will email them and ask them to take it off !

SHAR0N · 19/06/2020 10:26

F&B Parma grey is delicious , we have it one bedroom.

misstiggiwinkle · 27/06/2020 07:47

Ok, we are finished! Tops on, splash back installed and builders gone. Now I need to dress it but thought you might like to see a pic first Smile

Oh wow that looks amazing ! Like something in a magazine!

You must be delighted.

mumdone · 27/06/2020 08:57

Looks fab!! How do you find the quality? Did you go for magnetic catches or roller ones? We went back to he showroom this week was nice to see it in person.

misstiggiwinkle · 27/06/2020 18:47

Quality is excellent although I would say that now the doors have been painted they do stick a bit on opening/closing which is annoying. Catches are magnetic but soft close would be much better. Can't remember if that was even an option? I'll take some more pics when it's properly 'dressed' for sale in a week or so

So these two friends are they the same two people you mention in another thread in January - strange!
