May madness. Selling up anyway.

We put off selling because of Brexit. Now we're on lockdown. In the spirit of "fuck it, what's the worst that can happen?" we have decided to put our house on the market next week anyway.

The thinking is that we can't be the only people who were putting off moving because of Brexit, so we can't be the only people who really want to sell up and move on.

Absolutely no idea how it's going to work out. Viewings are still banned, but I hope reckon people are still looking.

Is anybody else going "live to market" in lockdown?

We are doing some decorating atm with a view to putting our house on the market after lockdown has been lifted.

We completed our house sale in Feb of this year. Went on holiday and came back to lockdown and moved in with our parents.

My partner and myself and in full time employment, no kids, healthy deposit and good credit history. We got a call from our mortgage advisor saying that our Agreement in principle dropped by £50,000 within the first three weeks of lockdown!! Banks just tightening their belts and not lending as much.

Baring in mind our circumstances remained the same (not furloughed etc) thats a big hit that was brought on solely by Covid.

I really don't think there is an easy way to predict what will happen with prices, but sellers need to be aware that the house is only going to be worth what the banks are willing to lend against them... and that really out of all our hands.

We are motivated buyers, but if the banks think there is a risk to them, then there is a risk to us.... we just won't offer the same amount of money pre covid.

3 houses total have come up in a 10 mile radius since the end of March here. Chomping at the bit but no appropriate properties

We want to move.
If been clearing stuff out - got bags for charity/tip etc.
Not in a huge rush but our house is definitely a bit too small.

@TheWooisStrong - for us, clearing stuff out of the house was a much bigger job than it looked. Do you have stuff in your attic? I will never put anything in an attic ever again.

We’ve got a fair bit in the eaves - loft conversion so our bed is in the attic and there’s nowhere near enough storage space.
