TIA.

It's the re-selling that would worry me. You'd get insurance from the current insurers though, surely?

Friend in Oxford bought a house that had flooded before, but remedial action was taken. It was cheap; they thought, oh it didn't flood badly and they've fixed it. Then it flooded again a few years ago. SO they had the floor raised and fixed all the damage. THe council put pumps in their street but they couldn't settle, so they sold. And last month it was under 4 feet of water.

No. There's always another house

We live in a house that has been flooded, just outside Carlisle. We only rent it though.

Thanks for all this, I see we have more Nos! We're seeing it again tomorrow, will ask more and will look to see how much it was flooded. And I'm feeling increasingly nervous, esp given all these posts so we prob won't buy it.

Hi, www

Have to say I would say no upfront too - but I am very surprised, I didn't know flooding was an issue where you are! When was it flooded, and how badly, and how did you find out?

WideWebWitch · 09/09/2007 00:41

Hello WW, it was in July, vendor told us, about an inch apparently. News photos from floods show the house, hmm.
