veneered composite inside doors

I am very angry & need ideas to see if this problem can be salvaged.
Ideas gratefully received thanks.

Our joiner has had to cut the width of our b&q veneered oak composite filled doors to make them fit the door frames in all rooms.
Problem is he has had to saw off so much of the veneer that the composite filling inside the doors shows.
Although he has shaved it from the inside where the hinges are, it is really obvious when the door is open.
Has anyone else had this problem & any ideas on how to make it look nice & make sure the veneer doesn't splinter off in time?
