Hell no, I don't go looking for trouble.

And Aldeburgh, too much MR James haunted malarkey for me.

Moondancer73 · 29/07/2019 23:10

@HappyHammy new house? Why on earth would you say that, it's plainly not.

I wouldn't buy it, for varying reasons. Mainly because the door opens straight into the lounge.

Longdistance · 29/07/2019 23:11

I’d love to do that house up, but I’ll ring a priest first 👻

Longdistance · 29/07/2019 23:13

And what’s with all the wires outside of the property, there’s one leading to next doors house.

IncrediblySadToo · 29/07/2019 23:15

IF you’re on,y asking about the ‘haunted’ aspect, then yes...it wouldn’t bother me as I don’t believe in that nonsense.

But if you’re asking ‘in general’ then no. Seems over priced for theare/state it’s in and it looks to have a mould issue.

Villanellesproudmum · 29/07/2019 23:22

It’s in a better condition than the first house I bought as a single mum to a newborn and we lived in it whilst I did it up and sold it for twice the price I bought it for, so yes I would. I’d want to investigate the history though! Condition is doable.

HUZZAH212 · 29/07/2019 23:29

The ghost clearly doesn't like to clean 🤢 I've a suspicion that the vendor would shit in the bath/on floors or something prior to leaving (not that it'd make it all much worse).

FiddlesticksAkimbo · 29/07/2019 23:32

No, I don't want to live wherever that house is.

SpankYouMuchly · 29/07/2019 23:37

Where is the footpath to the front door?
I thought the kitchen was some semi outside work shop. And obviously keep the bike in the bath.
I wouldn't buy it.

ChicCroissant · 29/07/2019 23:40

Looking at the streetview, those signs on the front of the house are not there. But it is down a very narrow lane so it could well be some ancient drover's path or similar.

It does seem as if the current occupant has some issues, while it is up for sale I'm not sure about posting the link on MN tbh. Sad

Rachelover40 · 29/07/2019 23:42

It's certainly cheap and looking at the inside, I can see why! Could be a good investment though, quite a nice looking house. A novel idea to have a bicycle in the bath!

Is the house really reputed to be haunted? Although I don't believe in that sort of thing it would still scare me to be there. So, no, I wouldn't buy.

MummyMcCracken · 29/07/2019 23:43

No, I think it would cost too much to do up.

QOD · 29/07/2019 23:52

What do the signs on the house say?
And maybe if it was where I wanted to be and the right price

DexyMidnight · 30/07/2019 04:55

I would have loved to have bought it, but I see the owner is not leaving his lovely furniture and fittings so I’m afraid that’s me out x

sall74 · 30/07/2019 05:18

I'm usually the first to rant about overpriced ''doer uppers'' but I don't think this one is too badly priced.

Assuming there are no major structural issues this house could surely be modernised to a reasonable standard for around £30k, which puts the overall spend in line with what others on Long Row have sold for.
