If you love where you live...

If you love where you live... where do you live?

Reading through threads about different locations, there's always a mix of negative and positive comments. So if you love living in your village/town/area of a city, where is it?

Bristol, always something to do!

Small market town on an estuary in East Anglia. About 20 minutes drive from the nearest city. 40 minutes on train to Liverpool Street. Surrounded by lovely farmland and countryside just a three minute drive from my house. Very friendly and very little crime.

Durham. Beautiful city but not up itself and with places to live for a real mix of budgets.

DH in IT with plenty of opportunities if he needs to change job. We can manage perfectly comfortably with me as a carer to kids with SN.

Adding great (but not dirt cheap) public transport.

Though our city is so small that I live almost on the outskirts and can walk into the centre in 25 minutes (if I'm not dawdling to catch pokemon)

I'm a City girl.
Love the countryside for a holiday / weekend away, but love the convenience of living in a big City.

On the edge of Rawtenstall in Lancashire. Small town, north of Manchester, but quite rural - I can see hills all around but still walk into town in less than ten minutes. It's glorious. And house prices are very reasonable.

On edge of countryside, woods and parks nearby. Tennis courts, clubs for the kids, DD can be independent in getting about. Zone 5 London, convenient suburb location, feels more like a village, lovely community feel. Access to all that London offers with museums and theatres etc but without the pollution and noise.

A mile from the sea on the south coast. Absolutely love it. We moved down from a vairy naice chocolate box village in the Home Counties, and will never go back.

@PettsWoodParadise

Your area sounds a lot like our neck of the woods ;)

Btw, your help is needed on another thread

We live in a new build development on the rural edge of a small Surrey commuter town. It is the best of all worlds, surrounded by countryside, but close proximity to Gatwick airport & about 30 minutes on the train to London. Living in a brand new village as it is being built is not something I ever thought I would do, but it is the best move I have ever made! I really love it here!

West Norfolk. 45 mins from beach, 95 mins by train to kings cross. Big skies. I can breathe here.

There are some downsides, like fewer opportunities for our children, a lack of ethnic diversity, not many like minder people, but I like living in such an agricultural area and we have to live round here for various reasons so... actually to my surprise, really like it.
