Please tell me what you think, good and bad? You can’t see but it has a porch and stairs in the living room.

I think it's neat and tidy, not much to do refurb wise, purely decorative. Are you thinking of buying it or are you the seller?

It looks new so I would worry that the rooms are smaller than they look. The photos look slightly stretched. Beautifully maintained gardens though too much work for me!

Don't know the area so can't say ref price/location/schools/transport etc.

PickAChew · 19/06/2018 20:20

How many of you is it for? The listing is crap and stairs in the lounge would put me off with kids as you'd be creeping around, trying not to wake them up. In the absence of room dimensions, I'd need to know what size those beds are because if they're doubles, then those bedrooms are really cramped. If king size, well they do take up a fair bit more space.

Arcadia · 19/06/2018 20:33

Too much orange wood for my taste and I don't like modern houses although the beam in the living room and the wood burner make it more cosy. Bedrooms look v small and no photo of third bedroom which would make me suspicious that it is even smaller.

MollyHuaCha · 19/06/2018 20:34

Nice

TheMagnoliaTree · 19/06/2018 20:40

I hate that there is no floor plan.

Stairs off the lounge are a definite no from me. I had that in the last house and all the heat from the lounge and noise travels upstairs. The children could sleep through us talking but if we had anyone else round the strange voice would wake the children up.

It says 2 bathrooms is there a downstairs loo? Again, everyone has to go upstairs to use the loo.

It is inoffensive as houses go, but I agree there is lots of orangey wood.

Is it yours to sell or are you looking at buying it?

We are thinking of putting an offer in for it. I think it’s a double bed (we have viewed it) but it’s a bed that has the electric mechanism in it which apparently means it’s bigger than a normal bed. The third room is small but will be ok for DS as he’s only 1. It’s for 3 of us.
I’m really happy where we are now but OH wants to move here as it’s much closer for his work. I’m just a bit concerned about the stairs in the living room and I think cos I love our current house so much i’m a bit apprehensive. The bedroom has an en suite you can’t see which takes up a lot of the bedroom space.

@Custardpie30 that link has your full address and postcode, might want to remove?

Alevel · 19/06/2018 20:56

The kitchen is dated. The bedrooms are not big and your one year old will outgrow the small third very quickly.

Notthatwomanagain · 19/06/2018 20:57

But your current house has a young girls bedroom in it? Where has she gone?

Custardpie30 · 19/06/2018 20:59

Ahh bugger.. how do I remove? This is how it looked when we moved in, the pink room is now DS’s nursery x

It would be an expensive move to make for a house you are unsure about. Can see why your DH would want to reduce his commute, though.

PickAChew · 19/06/2018 21:10

I reported the link, btw.

Knittedfairies · 19/06/2018 21:12

The stairs in the living room would put me off, I think. Lovely garden though..

Custardpie30 · 19/06/2018 21:12

Thank you, I didn’t realise you couldn’t just delete it. OH is all for it but I just don’t know really.

It looks like next door might be for sale too. It might be worth just checking out. It may be nothing, but worth checking. We are about to move and our neighbour has just put their (same) house on the market, we are upsizing, they are downsizing to a bungalow so may be completely unconnected.

www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-72389324.html

Our stairs are in the lounge, it was great when they were little as I could hear them if we were on different floors, they have gone downstairs on their own from quite a young age because we could hear everything. Disturbing at night has never been a major issue - occasionally I have to tell dh to turn the tele down at night (but I can do it from an app on my phone if the kids turn it up too much in the mornings) A house without stairs in the lounge was an absolute must for our next one but that is because ds has autism and likes to lie on the stairs with his tablet and it causes a lot of issues. So they didn't work for us, rather than it being a bad thing. We sold within 3 viewings and the 2 that didn't offer wasn't because of the stairs.

HystericalDinosaur · 19/06/2018 22:13

It looks like it’s being sold now for less than it was bought for? That would raise a red flag for me.

ginandtonicdontmindifido · 19/06/2018 23:20

2 red flags for me...it's right next to A64; v v busy road and also effectively backs onto the huge Kingsplan plant, how noisy is that? It's hemmed in between industrial units

Orchardgreen · 20/06/2018 08:59

My mother had an electric bed, they are the same size as the equivalent normal bed. Someone's trying to pull a fast one on you.

thecatsthecats · 20/06/2018 11:05

Hmm, not wild about it, just because the size of the bedrooms, and the fact the listing is quite 'lazy'? It's missing floorplan, room dimensions etc - feels like they're relying on people forgetting the details!

If it's the same as the other one, the bedrooms are 3.1x3.1, and one about 3x2. Now my own bedroom isn't really much larger, but the square shape sort of hems you in.

Arcadia · 20/06/2018 21:48

What on earth is an electric bed?

HeddaGarbled · 20/06/2018 21:52

Like a hospital bed - you can raise and lower parts of it by presssing buttons on a controller. People with disabilities often use them.

catandpanda · 21/06/2018 00:08

There seems to be a similar one on at 180k and not sure if this is relevant:

That bit of the A64 is chocka with caravans for 4 months of the year!
