Thamesmead or South Kensington?

So excited about moving to the UK from Oklahoma in November and am currently house-hunting - wanting to move to either South Kensington or Thamesmead. Would be great to know which one you would recommend in terms of housing stock/community feel/shopping etc - budget could stretch to either. Thanks a lot!

Did the Thamesmead architect explain why he felt the need to move to Oklahoma?

Need - you've summed up the entire thread!

Haha! Definitely Chiswick, South Ken is just too busy.

Definitely Chiswick. South Ken is swarming with tourists and has lots of empty apartments owned as investments. Chiswick is a lovely villagey area with its own social scene.

Out of the two I'd go for Chiswick, S.K. Is very very busy, depends which part you are thinking of, the Hyde Park side or the Earls Court side.

@womaningreen not only am I on the right side, I managed to get DH to move here too. His mum almost cried when I told them we were moving across the river.

I’d go for South Ken over Chiswick (which is just an upmarket suburb with fewer shops and places to eat). South Ken has much better transport links too. If you want more residential living go for Richmond!
