Decision has to be made pronto. Sink will be located on a large whitish quartz island. Will have a second sink (stainless steel) in the utility room
Suppose it comes down to whether a draining board is required on quartz? Please help! Any thoughts much appreciated

I had a butlers sink once, never again. They scratch badly, collect debris in the corners and the water goes cold quickly. You also use much more water.

Second choice!

Mama that is a lovely kitchen. Can I ask where you got your units from? We are looking at two at the moment. Howdens cheaper and a local small kitchen company that do everything but are twice the price. Typically we prefer the more expensive plan at present.

We've just ordered a pale grey sparkly quartz worktop and going for an underslung stainless steel sink and having the grooves cut in the quartz. Looks miles better than a sink with attached drainer in my opinion.

But you do what you like!

Sorry to be controversial but I’d go for the first one. We have it and it is brilliant. Big enough bowl and rack to handle anything the dishwasher can’t. We have a hose tap so it’s easy to keep clean. I wouldn’t go for stainless steel because it shows all the marks. A quick wipe with bleach and this sink looks exactly like when I bought it.

Another for the first one. We stayed in a holiday cottage with a sink like the one in the second picture and water dripping from washed pots went everywhere.

Bowerbird we got ours from a local independent kitchen place too, they did everything and supplied appliances, sorted the worktops etc. They made everything (well, I’m sure they bought some units) so it’s not a Howdens/wickes/magnet kitchen as such. It was Cheverell Wood in Wiltshire. Bloody expensive but cheaper than some other kitchen places we visited. It’s our forever home and to be honest we live pretty much in our kitchen so it was worth it.

Number 2. Having lived abroad in rentals for years with crappy, small, stainless steel sinks that you can't get a big Le Creuset pot in, I am looking forward to moving home to my deep, ceramic, butler's sink next year. I can get two big Le Creuset pots in that. Barkeepers Friend works on the ceramic sink.
