We can't sell our current kitchen all in one go so getting rid of this portion to start with. It's from the WIckes Tiverton Bone range...how much would you shove it on faceache/ebay/gumtree for? It's in really good condition, clean, no dinks, etc. This is not an snidey way to advertise it by the way as we're not quite ready to dismantle it yet but want to get things ready to go.

Someone will buy it without a doubt. We just sold a sink unit with 1 leg, 2 single wall cupboards, a set of drawers and an old cooker for £50 the other day. The chap who brought it had just moved into his first flat and needed something to tide him over. We were going to take it to the dump.

bebealpha · 12/02/2018 10:44

About £50. Someone is bound to want it for utility or garage

wowfudge · 12/02/2018 12:04

The thing with selling anything like this is that what it is really worth to you is that you don't have to break it up and take it to the tip or hire a skip. Get anything at all for it is a bonus.

HappenstanceMarmite · 12/02/2018 14:20

How is the rest of the kitchen. Those cupboards look nicer than just garage/utility room efforts! I’m finding Facebook Marketplace a great place to buy and sell. Free and much simpler/faster to get an advert up and running

FluffyWuffy100 · 12/02/2018 14:43

£200????? Mega-lolz

More like £20

I am really interested in this option. How do you make it work, given that no two kitchens are identical in size and shape? Can it only be done if you have a small kitchen and you buy the units from a much larger one?

dotdotdotmustdash · 12/02/2018 18:07

You can get a reasonable 2nd hand kitchen for about £600 including appliances. A run of fairly modern units might net you £50.

bobkate · 12/02/2018 18:22

Just thought I"d nip back with an update..he got £60 for them. They are gawn and out of the way! Hurrah! I am well chuffed with that! He is harrumphing a bit but after seeing your messages I think he's pretty pleased with 60 as well.

happenstance yes it was a big lot of units and our kitchen is fairly small 3.5x4m ish. I sat with some graph paper and cut outs and made it work. Paid to have it properly fitted and it looks amazing, even if I do say so myself.

We’ve got quite a few leftover cabinets for when we do the utility room

HappenstanceMarmite · 13/02/2018 14:15

Haint

I’m very impressed! Would you mind telling me a total figure for your kitchen, including worktops and fitting etc? PM if you prefer. Thanks x

Haint · 13/02/2018 21:36

Ummm worktops we got slate from the Reclaimation yard. That was about £300

We did the tiling ourselves so about £300 for adhesive / grout / tiles

We had to have more sockets put in and the extractor fan (which came with the kitchen) and switches for the dishwasher / oven / lights under the cabinets. That was about £200 (including nice sockets rather than shit plastic ones)

The fitter was about £1000 but that included opening up an old serving hatch into a big rectangle and making a little end piece to fill a gap and hold chopping boards and the under sink cupboard

Walls skimmed: about £150

Lovely big ceramic sink off eBay £60

Nice new brass knobs were cheap as chips from China

Bought a very nice tap about £200 I think

We already had appliances

Painted the cabinets and walls ourselves

It was 2 or 3 years ago. I thought at the time it cost about £3k though it took a while with us doing bits ourselves and I stopped adding up after a while

It looks pretty good. We splashed out on lovely tiles for the only bit of wall that is tiled (behind the cooker) and the posh tap which I think makes it look a bit more fancy

I’ll try to find a pic but I’m in the bath 🛀

Thank you Haint. I’ve taken a screenshot of your response for some ideas. 👍
