I think you need a connector to attach to the bit at the right hand side of your plumbing. Like this:

dementedpixie · 07/08/2017 15:32

I dont know which hole is best though. (Have only just noticed that's what you're asking about)

Sammy2017 · 07/08/2017 15:32

anything in the instructions?

dementedpixie · 07/08/2017 15:38

I don't know if the hose should be above the waste connector so I would probably use the top hole

Sammy2017 · 07/08/2017 15:42

The instructions are usless i was thinking if i put it through the middle hole would the water siphon out am not sure n a dont want to connect it untill i know for sure as a dont want horible smells inside my new washer

I have never seen a washing machine with the drain hose at the top its normally at the bottom

A drain hose connected to a sink u-bend should first go up at least 3 or 4 inches high before running down to the washing machine. It may need tying up with a cable tie to force it to stay in this position. (Found online - I would use the top hole i think)

Sammy2017 · 07/08/2017 15:49

Ano this applys to a washer that drains from the bottom as the ubend in sink is higher than the pump think the need to make instruction more clear

Find your local plumb trade center. Take the pics with you and show them.

I've always found them very helpful.

From what I can see you need the pointy bit that someone else has posted a picture of. It should be very easy to take of the cap on you ubend (put towels underneath, there will be some water) attache the pointy thing you get from the plumb trade centre and the washer hose attached to the pointy bit - your best off getting a metal ring that screws tight to secure / tighten it. Sorry I dont know the name of it.

Rollercoaster1920 · 07/08/2017 16:59

Top hole. Higher than the drum, and higher than the sink trap. To prevent smelly water going back into your machine.

Sammy2017 · 07/08/2017 17:16

Yeah ave got the thing that needs to be on the sink thing a will try putting it through the too hole tmoro fingers crossed its right thanks

no, it should go higher.

When the sink is full to the brim, the water level will be higher than the highest part of the loop in the hose, so water will run down the hose and into your washer. Sometimes this water will contain tealeaves, peas, bacon fat etc.

So as described earlier, you should loop the hose so it goes right up to the underside of the worktop,

Wheelycote · 08/08/2017 20:28

Piglet could you show a pic of what you mean please? Think I understand ish.

I'm watching thread with interest, plumbing my kitchen in next week

Sorry sammy to hijack

Wheelycote · 08/08/2017 20:30

Do u mean it just needs part of the pipe securing higher to stop a flow of kitchen sink water flowing into it??

PigletJohn · 08/08/2017 20:44

any part of the hose will do. It is usual to loop it up.

PigletJohn · 08/08/2017 21:01

like in your pic Mon 07-Aug-17 20:12:53

The other picture showed it higher than the top hole i.e. just under the worktop. Can it go like that again?
