Bathroom layouts...which is better ( if either )

We are in desperate need of redoing our bathroom. It's quite small 2110 x 1770, with a quite a large, low window.
We currently have a bath running along the back wall underneath the window, with a shower over the top. The shower curtain gets pulled across the window. There is a loo ( that is on it's last legs flushing wise ) and a sink.
I'd really like a stand alone shower but my DH loves baths so I'm trying to find a way to get it all in.
I'm thinking that the doorway is taking up a lot of space - so I am hoping we'd be able to put a pocket door in instead.
Which of these layouts do you think would work the best ( if any ) or would it all look too cramped?
If you have any better suggestions they'd be gratefully received!

I think that latest option would work technically (yes you could have a shower head that sits above the height of the shower screen, we have this and it's fine)

However (1) you will block some of your window, which isn't ideal and (2) personally I really dislike shower screens that fold in half - they always seem a bit rickety and get gunky in the hinges. So I wouldn't want one as both sides of my shower. But that's just personal preference.

recent thread about soaking tubs

Have you put the kids to bed early so you can go back to playing in the bathroom?

Thanks chish - in fact that thread was what inspired me to get my bum in gear as I had been googling small, deep baths for a while. Been out for my DD's bday dins so I'm hoping they're konked out now for the night. So yes, I can get back to playing in the bathroom!!!
Namechange back to your points. Not too personal a question. Yes, we have 2 kids, 9 and nearly 7, hopefully it's our forever home - that's how we see it at the moment anyway! I see your point about the gap between the sink and the bath but I think if the shower doors were folded back it would open the space up a lot. And if it was a wet room type floor, as opposed to a tray, then hopefully it would look bigger - potentially...
Mini at the moment our bath runs along the whole back window wall so our shower curtain obscures the window so again, if we had a screen that could be folded away the window would only be blocked whilst someone was showering and even then, as it's just a clear screen, I think it would be preferable to the shower curtain scenario. I would try and find somewhere that stocked similar so I could see in person to judge the ricketyness so I'll keep that point in mind also!

Anyone totally fed up with all my layout woes yet??!!

As I said upthread - I appreciate all your pointers/feedback. It has been really helpful so far x

My advice would be to ditch separate shower. If you sell house families want a bath that they can easily access for small kids. We have shower above with solid one panel glass door. Works well.

Have you considered a standard size bath along the top wall, toilet in the bottom right hand corner, sink on the opposite wall then the wet room shower in between the bath and toilet on the right hand wall? You could still use the folding screen/screens.
So a similar set up to magicstar1 but the shower on the we wall rather than the sink wall.

Perhaps you could use a glass shower panel on the bath and a folding screen by the toilet. Not sure about the waterproofing situation though as you would be showering on the other side wrt to the bath panel iyswim?

Frog I think I'd put that option up above....if I've understood you right. That may well be a better option and in fact would be very similar to magic's one. Well the bath/shower bit anyway.
Flowers yep - I suppose we ought to bear that in mind but I see us being here for quite some time which is why I'd like something that suits us as a family now, rather than as a family with small children ( I don't plan on having any more!)

Frog my post was the one with the youtube video - that's if I've understood your thinking.

Yes bobkate, just like your plan at 11.43 on 23/1 but perhaps a standard bath would overcome your window height restriction.

Has your DH actually sat in one of those deep baths? As he would be sat up in it whereas he could lie down in a normal size bath. Very much personal preference, but I think those who enjoy a soak would be more relaxed lounging down rather than sitting.

I think yes, if we were to do that, I'd revert back to a full length bath. DH hasn't seen all my crazy pants ideas yet. He'll probably be in the no separate shower camp but I thought I'd get some options sorted before I ambush him with them on his return!!!

I am way over-invested in this!!

Separate bath (1500) and cubicle is a struggle

chish Grin Grin my tactics are fairly obvious then Grin. Many a 'triumph' has been won by my DH with a little seed planting by moi Grin
Back to your stirling efforts...thank you so much. I fear I have just lost my early night!!! That's a great planner. I tried the ideal standard one but it wouldn't load on my ipad. Chish to the rescue!

I lost many an hour on that planner and Pinterest last year designing our layout!

It's taking shape

If the shower is down the window end would you have a folding door to cover the window too?

Pics 1&3 - if the bath is 700 wide and the loo say 400 +space around it will you have enough shower space for folding back the shower door? (Great find btw! Bookmarked them for our downstairs shower room Smile)

800+ screen used + 1500 tub - is the soaking tub 1200 or 1500?

Not sure if a hazard walking in and on to a glass screen though - you'd have to lock the door when in use/remember to fold it back :-/

Plan Z - convince DH he doesn't need a bath and have a fantastic walk in!!

Thanks chish totally appreciate your over investedness Smile....my brain has been slightly side tracked from the bathroom due to my DD's bday ( so inconvenient ) - celebrations and work going to take over for a day or so however come Sunday I"ll be back on it with Cake and Wine in tow. It will be much needed!

Just a quick update, well of sorts. We have a bathroom company coming round tomorrow to give us their opinions. After perusing the brochures he gave me, they may well be a bit high end for our budget but I think it'll be interesting to see what he comes up with.
