How warm does your Aga make your home?

We're in the middle of planning our new kitchen and have decided to go for a dual control three-oven Aga Smile. It's not a very big room (about 4.5m x 3m), with one door and two windows.

My DH is all for removing the radiator that's currently there, to give us more wall space/furniture options. I'm not so sure… will we be cold or toasty I'm always cold?

Ours is quite warm enough , we don't have a radiator , and the front door opens straight into the kitchen
Nothing as good as warming your bottom and your back on the Aga in the morning !

Much larger room and smallest size elderly aga came with house.
When we moved in it was the only way to heat water, cook etc, & made the room unbearably hot. We fitted an alternative hub, later an alternative oven too.
Only have aga on in proper winter now. It's still off today. We have the central heating on today, radiator in the kitchen.

No radiator in kitchen which is a similar size to yours and it's boiling. No alternative oven for us so super hot over the summer.

It's not a big kitchen And has 3 doors including the front door , so lots of draughts !

Deffo don't need a radiator!!! Keeps our bedroom above toasty too, so bedroom radiator has been switched off. Don't forget to dry your clothes on a ceiling airer above, save on needing a tumble dryer!!!

My kitchen is 30' x 15' and we don't have a radiator. We have a gas fire for when it drops to -15 outside.

Doilooklike the draughts are useful for my DH, who is always hot!

Nowhere special. It was a few years ago when we had lots of snow and a really cold snap.

I know some do, but we never turn our Aga off, unless we go on holiday.

I swapped my Aga for an Everhot a few years ago.

They are more energy efficient, so don't get as hot as Agas, and also much cheaper to run.

Looks beautiful and cooks just as well. And still good for laundry airing etc.

Best thing about dual control is being able to switch off ovens/hot plates independantly of each other so if it's hot in summer just use hot plates and have the ovens off. Makes it much cheaper to run. Can't beat an age imo!
What colour are you getting?

We had one radiator removed when we had the kitchen done and the other hasn't been switched on since due to the Aga being so warm. It's lovely toastie warm, although in summer it can get a. bit too warm. Wouldn't swap it thought Grin

My kitChen is 5m x 6m and two glass doors to outside plus three internal doors leading from it (usually open). It is the only heating in our kitchen and our kitchen is easily the warmest room in the house. We turn it off in summer but usually only June July and August. I hate not having it on. It is on an internal wall so heats the hall too.

Ours tends to heat the room next to it and above it as well so that side of the house is constantly warm...

My kitchen in quite large and we don't have a separate heater. The aga means it's always warm and welcoming.
DH put it out last week for 48 hours so it could be cleaned and serviced - the kitchen felt dead.
We never turn ours off, it really is one of my favourite things in this house.

Our Aga is black, there are some lovely colours but I tend to think it goes with most things and I won't fall out with it. Grin
